Isn't a CMOS battery just a (type of) watch battery? Any watch shop should have them, or maybe any of the Tesco Extras, and those sorts of places.

Good point Serephucus, Yes they are a fairly standard 3 volt type CR-2032. Turns ot Power city carry them for €1.95.

I actually ordered pretty much all my build stuff from Amazon... Free and quick delivery amazed me, and their prices are pretty good, even after exchanging the currency. My 9kg all steel case, ordered on Sunday came home on Wednesday and it was supposed to be delivered on Thursday, haha.

Have you guys seen the benchmarks of the 295x2? This new AMD card is... Crazy, to say the least.

Essentially, they take everything out of the box that they need to assemble it with and then package the box the items came in as well as any spare parts, screws, ties, clips etc that they didn't need to use. Cheers..just what I had hoped for.

So i took the plunge and ordered a 500GB SSD to replace my old 500GB seagate from 06 ,which i plan on using as my new SSD for OS(win8.1) and other data(2-3 games, documents, music, movies, pictures).

When i hook up my new drive and install the OS, is it possible that i can transfer files directly from the old OS HD to my new drive?
What software would you recommend to use?

Now i have thought about getting a WD 1tb black or green HD as well, but i dont believe id really make much use of it. Would occasionally writing music,files, movies, documents to my new SSD really degrade it much?

Don't keep the old drive connected while installing Windows to the SSD though.

You might need elevated privileges to access it at first, or at most your old password from that os, but that's very rare unless you set up a bit locker type encryption.


When installing the new OS, make sure your Sata configuration is set to AHCI in the bios. It probably already is though.
