Not sure there was anything said about him being thinking he's "instantly entitled" to one, he just enquired. Nothing wrong with that, seeing as he's struggling financially.

The post said he tried to get a council house but hadn't got enough points ,
Which it adds to the whole bogus story

Doesn't that just mean he enquired as to whether he'd be eligible for local authority housing and was told he wasn't eligible?

Its a bogus story and as long as his name is on the house he's not entitled to council housing ,

Never mind the 12 month ban on seeing his kids without a court date

I think he's mixing this up with his CAO application.

Pre nups aren't available in Ireland, make sure you don't cohabit either.

Really? That's crazy though.. Couldn't you just draw up a contract?

" pre nups are not available in ireland "

does she have rights from cohabiting ?

Marriage confers next of kin rights and fathers' rights though.

Regardless of the possibility of the post being a fabrication, this is a reality for a lot of men.

The original post sounds like a country and western song.
Assuming you are not trolling the best advice is to grow a pair and fight for what is yours and what are your rights.
Fck me, she will be having you around to clean the windows if you don't.

    oh yea baby

lock the doors and hide behind the couch - them harlots are coming to get ya !!!

He could just as easily break into his own house and change the locks again, nothing she could do about it. He could just not pay for the car and stop paying the mortgage and so on. Without a legal seperation he doesnt even have to provide for the kids.

If this story is true ( which its not ) the guy's an idiot and pretty much deserves everything hes getting.

He might seem harmless to you, but lots of apparently harmless people rule a reign of terror behind closed doors.

I know one person who managed to convince every last one of his friends that his ex was a bitter lying bitch out to ruin his reputation.

I didn't believe him, because I saw the bruises and the x-ray of the broken rib.

That's very true, yer man Kim Jong Un is always all smiles, buying rounds and cracking jokes with Denis Rodman, but as soon as the doors shut, he's a right cnut. My mate Alan said he's a proper street angel, house devil.

    Ah nobody deserves that.

I love a good story me.

I stopped paying for Sky when I got Netflix and I've been missing those Daz ads so this is great.

You're right, I was humming and hawing between using the term 'pathetic' and 'idiot' and went with the latter.

Anyway, it's a made up story so its really not insulting anyone.

Either this is a spoof or ops friend is not a nice man.
Family court free 2-3 month for a court case access granted once you arnt violent or drunk or a junkie.
Why pay the bills and sleep in a barn for yourself.
The Irish pubs are littered with men who "arnt allowed see their kids"claiming they are the victim. In reality they just never bothered going one day and then never bothered going again then got used to it. Then started saying to people that they "would love to see their kids but that cow eont allow it".
Im not saying normal men dont have normal lives with their kids and Im not saying some decent men dont have it rough but a married man who makes an effort will get access. Even the craic heads get supervised access.

You could, but I don't think it will have any legal standing.

As far as I know, 5 years without children, just 2 years if you have children. Mind you the same rights are available to both genders. Just get a woman with more money than you.

    Wow!

There are many a man who are decent and loving fathers who are denied access to their children out of spite from a bitter and twisted mother. Or merely because the wife no longer wants him or found a toyboy or whatever reason.

If you spoke to a lot of lonely men seeking solace on a bar stool you will hear many a story.

Suicide and mental health are enormous issues for men and the above is one of the major contributing factors.

Exactly sitting on a bar stool. I got access and my name on the birth cert within 2 months even though the mother of the first born didnt want me to have access rights so she could use access as control eg "do this or your not getting your son next week".
Judge asked 2 questions or so and wrote the order.

Surely if it satisfies the conditions of a valid contract and is drawn up by competent solicitors it would have to be though no?

I mean if a contract is just a formal agreement then I couldn't see the problem, even if there is nothing on the Irish statute books.

It doesn't work out so well for other men unfortunately. All it takes is a particularly manipulative ex. I'd say maybe there is more cop-on in these cases, but up to about 10 years ago it wasn't so pretty.
