Why didn't you share those anomalies here, Bigus? Private sale / no named garage, whatever you say can't be libellous I'd have thought?

    My ads on adverts.ie:

Victron stuff for sale, Multiplus-II, Quattro, other inverters and batteries and usually some watches!

I wouldn't pay a grand for the Laguna tbh. €1,400 is very strong money for an '03

Always liked those estates though. Them and the 407 estate.

Actually now that I think about it, I actually reckon estate is my favourite style of car.

So, as I was driving today I spotted this car which I'm pretty sure isn't advertised anywhere on the internet. It had a piece of paper in the window saying "100 bhp, 40+ mpg" so I had to give the owner a call to find out what's the deal with it.

He sounded like a genuinely nice man and this is what he told me over the phone:
    - It has a 1.6 petrol engine apparently producing 100 horses and does about 40 - 43 MPG.
    - It has been imported from UK some time ago and he is the 2nd owner of it.
    - It has been serviced every 6000 miles.
    - It has NCT on it, but it's on its way out. He can pass it but then he'll ask for ~150 on top.
    - The only reason it's being sold is because a bigger car is needed.
    - He wants €450 as it is.

    (it has tax until 06-2014)

    Where is the car?

It can be seen either in Tipperary or Leitrim area. I took the pics of it in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Nice and crusty at the back there..

Those 1.6 GLs were 100hp alright, lower specced 1.6s were only 75hp.

UK import with rusty wheel arches. You can be sure there's more rust lurking elsewhere on that car. I'd be avoiding tbh.

Is it a mark III or IV golf?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,894 ✭✭✭✭bear1

Mark III - If I was him I'd pop it through the NCT and sell it for 150e more, wouldn't think it would be difficult to sell at 600 notes.

Mark III. You don't see rust like that on the mkI V

That A8 has been posted a few times, here and on the luxobarge thread. Wonder why it's not sold, seems like a good proposition!

It was posted on this site by someone a few days ago alright. I don't know if there was a thread on it though.

Yes as I said above was posted on boards by someone already, can't remember what thread though.

I think it was this thread but I can't be bothered flicking through pages, especially this time of day. :P

It was in here (thread got a bit derailed that night). Unfortunately, it looks like I'll have a hefty dental bill in the next week or two so no new car for me just yet. I'm both annoyed and delighted that S80 got away.

That A8 has been re listed. I wonder if there is I catch? I've had my suspicions since I found it

It looks nice but if in doubt I wouldnt be going for it. It is going to be an expensive machine to run.
