I wouldn't imagine many were successful. They offered such tiny amounts of money for really large chunks of equity in the companies. Pretty difficult to get a company off the ground when you have very little capital and very little/no equity to sell on to a real investor.
The TV time they got was pretty invaluable though, a recommendation from a celebrity is still worth a lot in the right context. I think companies that went in there already on the right track probably did quite well from the exposure.

I heard that very few of them actually got any money - even if they were promised it on the show. There is loads that goes on behinds the scenes and huge demands are made before they get anything. Does anyone know any more about this?

I'm sure a lot of people just use it to get exposure and other investors will come out of the woodwork

I bought one of those gadgets for squashing the rubbish in your wheely bin. I think it's pretty awesome :)

Weird, I came onto this thread just to post about those thingies. I thought they didn't invest in it. Where did you buy it? I could do with one.

I have two - legs. If it's really full I hoist up a plump child to do the squashing.

I kinda lolled at Ms snotty pants and yer man from Not-In-The-Black-Tie with their pompous guff. "Soo, You've invented a new way to turn lettuce leaves into gold? Sorry, your morkeshing strategy doesn't appear transparent going forward and your revenue projections don't seem to have been plucked out of your hole, so for that reason, I'm out". fcuk off.

I still see those things you put with your oil burner to help stop them air locking in the local plumbing shop

They're actually pretty damn good. Saves a lot of hassle bleeding out the boiler.

"Dogs First" (raw dog food) from Greystones is doing pretty well (I think) and I'm pretty sure it was on dragons den.

I haven't seen surf seeds in ages, are they still produced ?
Insomnia still stocks them. Gone are the funky plastic dispensers now, just normal polythene like a bag of chocolate peanuts.

Creepy reality tv show hosts seem to have taken off because of that show. The bloke on the English one is like something from resident evil.

I see Dee's stuff in the supermarkets. She was the one that came on with the veggie burger. Seems to have quite a range of products now.

You'd also see Brooke & Shoals scented candles in shops. They smell amazing a look a very high-end product

No idea - my minions buy them and fit them to boilers to save hassle bleeding them when they run out of oil. Chadwicks sell them, <€30 afaik. Ask in a plumbers merchants or chadwicks. Someone else will know anyway - give it thirty seconds. Easy-bleed rings a bell.

Nonsense - the bag light has been a massive hit with spelunkers and horse-mid-wives.

I remember that it had a lot of wiring and you had to bring wiring diagram with you for airports:rolleyes:
it would look like a bomb on a scanner and the logic appeared that after it showing up as a bomb... the security were going to let you over to the bag to retrieve the wiring diagram/give lighting demonstration:pac::pac:

if im not 100% off it may have been a member of Irelands etnic minority hawking this investment

A girl I went to school with pitched her idea for a baby fair, it was on in the RDS at the weekend. Looks like it was a great success too :-)

Seems that there were some fairly good ideas on the Irish show. Problem was the investors were broke.
