Another US School Attack.

Sky are reporting yet another attack at a school in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.

This time no guns were involved, but up to twenty people have been injured, with one in custody.

Incident took place at Franklin Regional High School.

Strange indeed that one kid can stab up to 20 people without one person attempting to kick him on the underside of his scrote or throw a rock at his noggin. A gun is a different kettle of fish, but a knife.

As many as 20 students have been injured in stabbing at a high school in the US state of Pennsylvania, authorities have said.

One suspect believed to be a student is in custody at Franklin Regional High School in a suburb of Pittsburgh, a local affiliate of ABC News reports.

The wounded, at least four with significant injuries, range in age from 14-17 and have been taken to hospital.

Now much in the article about what exactly happened but I suppose he could have taken all by surprise. 4 people seriously injured the rest are just scrapes and cuts so thankfully it wasn't worse.

I can understand him getting away with stabbing 2 people but 20? Were people just watching him doing it? I know it's easy to say at a keyboard but surely someone could have tackled him or something.

We don't know what type of knife the loon had. If someone is swinging a machete around then it's all too easy to imagine a lot of people getting injured.

It just goes to show that the problem isn't guns...it's mental health.

Its a mix of things. If kids were taught to include everybody and not push people into being outsiders or not to push around the mentally ill Id be sure a vast majority of these attacks would be avoided.

Of course the National Riflemans Association (NRA) will come out with a statement that if the victims were armed, this unfortunate incident could have been averted.

Just a question, but if a veteran were one of the teachers in this school and was allowed to concealed carry a firearm during his/her working day, and was present when this happened, would 20 people have been stabbed with a knife?

I used to teach, and remember the horror story about a teacher who was attacked with an axe during a meeting with a parent. Teachers are prohibited from having the means to defend themselves, even if they have been trained and are legally carrying in the State for which they hold a CCW licence. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Well it's a bit of a bad comparison to be fair. I could try and cut my sandwich with a shotgun but it's not really going to end very well

Nothing wrong with gun control. Let the people who need them have them and restrict from the people who shouldn't. Seems to work fine in Ireland.

The vast, vast majority of firearms legally owned are used in a responsible manner.

Anyone who knows anything about firearms law in Ireland is snorting through their nose right now. Firearms law in Ireland is an arbitrary mess.

The attack in China was carried out by a large group of people (not just one person), which explains why there were deaths. If those same people each had a semi-automatic which could fire 30 bullets a second, they could kill hundreds.

Laws have nothing to do with mass shootings. Britain's laws are just as tough as here..tougher in some respect..but they've had several mass shootings over the last 30 years or so.

Norway also has tough laws but Anders Breivik simply went along with the process and we know what happened there.

In Europe? Whilst there has been no shootings in a school in Ireland, there have been several in the UK with even more restrictive gun laws than Ireland. Your statement doesn't make any logical sense.

There has been quite a spate of knife attacks across China for a few years now. But they just don't generate any media hype over here, probably because there's no Yanks involved.

You mean a big loud noisy thing vs walking through a crowded place sticking a knife in people as this kid seems to have done.
