So Ive a good chance of getting 2 jobs after my Masters, should know about one by next week. One job is near my house which means Ill be able to go nuts and get an rx8 or similar, the other is 40minute drive each way and Ill be forced to go diesel. Now Ive stayed away from even looking at diesels on donedeal but now I kinda have to.
Top of the list seems to be a d5 163bhp s60/80. Hoping to keep it under 5k, any others? 159 jtd might be possible, 2.2cdti accord/civic, 530d SE e60 are other possibilities.

    What about LPG?
If it was diesel, I'd go for an E60 525d - tax is a bit easier to swallow and after a remap, it's as good as a stock 530d.
If it was LPG, then 525i all day long.

Do I advertise the Gti with the red lip or take it off first?

Id add one picture of the car with it on.. Then the rest without. Then add some like "Red lip/splitter rare" even if it isn't. But that's just me...

You might want to change where it says 144 k miles at the begining of it. Might stop people reading further and seeing that it is actually 144k kilometres.

Ohh beige, very nice! Good pics too. Are you going to stick it on DoneDeal too, or just adverts?

Ooopsss. Thanks for that. Was pretty sure I had chosen KMs. Must have reset when the form reloaded.

You see the "Recently serviced" it appears to me that it's the only time you mention the word "serviced"

How about some thing like "serviced every ***km, and serviced last at ****km, so not due until ****km. Or something like that?

    Just a thought..

    :P

Donedeal ads look so **** in comparison to Adverts. Annoying given the Adverts ones are free.

    This isn't the dreamers thread ! :p

From people I trust to know these things, those accords are not frugal in any way;)

Maybe put km after the dsg oil change. The cars a little leggy compared to some others so keep saying it's kilometres! Go into the servicing schedule too.

    How does this sound?

    15 doesn't go into 140

How do ya explain that one?:P

Also, just found this. Think I'd prefer the blue graphite but proximity to your car might count against it price wise. Old advert though.

I think that is better. You have receipt for coil pack etc?

Clean looking car OSI, GLWS, as for the lip id leave it on and mention it can be taken off. I always found that ads with one picture where the car looks different are a bit strange, like the pics were taken months apart or something. Im looking at 335's at the moment and there is one ad where the car is wrapped in matte black in 1 out of about 15 pictures, I don't know why they bothered if the car is no longer wrapped?

Good luck with the sale OSI, looks great.

Fingers crossed for my Alfa which will be getting checked over tomorrow. I'll hopefully have news around tea time when I leave work.

Cheers man. Heres hoping for good news no the Alfa, you're my benchmark on their reliability :p
4 weeks to break down number 1. That's good in my book :p

Ah fingers crossed I just got unlucky. The car has been really looked after before I got it and I never got a chance to drive it enough to break it really.

Just found out that there's a company in Germany that make a good quality AMG Monoblock II replica. The originals are really hard to find, and I'd be hesitant to buy a used alloy also. This is awesome and will really help my plans for the next car go smoothly. The price ain't too bad either!

Do these have a belt? Very low mileage although on a car like that it could well be correct. Run a reg check when you get the car just to be sure the seller isn't attempting to hide it.

Blatantly hiding the reg in all photos.

In other news, theres a very bad crash on Collins avenue tonight, guards have the road closed and diversions in place - I think I saw the remains of a 6n2 Polo with its roof cut off as I passed. :(

Jaysus, there was a crash on Drumcondra Rd earlier this evening just outside the college / tesco also. Everyone was up and out of the cars but they had quite a shunt.

I'm not a wheel expert but it's generally accepted that you are better to get second hand genuine wheels over reps due to the lower quality materials etc used in the reps.

A Pug without comfy seats is like a BMW that's not rear wheel drive! They are seriously epic though, even better than the ones in a 607!

407s don't have a great reputation in saloon or estate (SW) form.

Ive read though that the Coupes are better built - but don't know how true that actually is though.

I actually like the styling of the 407 coupe - although many criticise it for not been as nice as the 406 coupe predecessor styling wise.

Peugeots of that era - also have a reputation for not been as nice or as enjoyable to drive as previous models - something worth noting if your thinking of buying the 407 coupe based on experience with previous models like 406, 306 or 405 - or even the legendary 205
