The problem as far as I can tell is that you have multiple sections selected. This is making it show the lowest from Damaged Repairable, then Car Parts etc etc. If you just select Cars it should be perfect.

Not exactly, still loads of parts and other things will show up. The best way is to set the min price at something like 100 or 200.

Thinking more about E39's, what are peoples opinions on the 3.0i versus the 2.5i? Is it worth the extra tax for the extra HP and Torque? Is there much difference in real world MPG between the two? Thinking about holding off until the end of the year or so and saving a bit more and going for a 3.0 instead.

If you're willing to go for a 3L engine, you might consider a 300ZX ;)

I've never had car parts show up for me, just cars for breaking.

I have little interest in Jap cars, especially coupes. Not to my tastes at all. If I was to get a 300 though it'd be the Twin Turbo but I haven't a hope in hell of getting insured in that.

Ahh ffs, look at this shíte. Someone really doesn't want to be recognised. That sort of thing puts people right off!

Japanese and German are my favourite cars. :)

True, if I was going to get a 300ZX, I would go for the twin turbo one too. Hard to tell what would be the price difference compared to a 3L E39 until you'd call the insurance company.

Hopefully my next car will have 1.8T 20V or 2.0 16V N/A... I've got some things in my mind. All depends how much the running costs will be for me.

    EDIT: Or 1.8 16V N/A as well :P

On something like a coach or minibus - id expect to see pics of the interior as well.

Especially if it was genuinely only used on hotel work - as id expect the interior of such a machine to be in better order then one used for schools work

What a morning. Started well, blue skies, nice coffee, Sunday paper to myself but its ended with the Alfa on the back of a recovery truck.

No idea. Engine light on and running rough. I suspect an injector has bit the dust but that's just my own assessment

Fair play to axa's red line. Truck was there in 25mins and it's been stored for the night and being delivered to a garage of my choice anywhere in the country tomorrow for no charge.

E46/39 2.5 petrol BMW owners on here (I know there is a few)

What kind of mpg are you getting and what are they like as a daily runner ?

Gonna be looking at early noughties 5 series in the coming weeks.

SE spec decent or is M-sport a must ?

I have a 2.2, so not too different.
20-35 MPG depending on mood and type of driving really.

Went to look at this 159 earlier:

Looks great in the pics. And from a distance. Up close and inside though, it's a wreck. Wheels are in absolute bits, interior as holes and dents in places, broken air vents and the boot mat is missing all of the buttons that hold it to the floor.

It did mean I finally got to drive a 16v 1.9 JDTm though, (Thanks for the offer ba, but never had time to get out to you) and I do like. A lot. Has a lot more poke than I expected with 150BHP, I might not cry myself to sleep for the first month after selling the GTI after all.

Hiya... I have a mint 2008 159Ti JTDm. I do very low mileage (5k miles) so I'm thinking of getting a 1750 Tbi petrol version. I might consider selling mine. Just PM'd you there.

Lads a short question, does anyone here know of any mechanics or are mechanics themselves who'd give me a bit of work experience? things aren't going too great in college (i might just be having a bad day here) so I'm seeing about the next thing that interests me, fixing/working on cars anyways yeah if you know of/are one gimme a shout

What are you studying in college?

The 2.2 is gutless in comparison to the 2.5.

Power wouldn't be my main concern though moreso comfort.

Always admired the E39 and couldn't buy an oil burner or four banger one would have to be a 6 cylinder auto with leather

Sorry to hear that. Has it done a regen since you got it?

It runs rough, smells like you're burning tyres in the boot and every time you take your foot off the throttle the boost gauge drops straight to 0 (not slowly like normal) mine does it about every second tank with almost no town driving.

Hopefully it's nothing but as it's not one of my previous sh!t heaps I wasn't taking any chances with it. Kelly recovery will be delivering it to my mechanics first thing in the morning.

It's a PITA this week as I'm moving out of my house on Saturday. I can't hire a car as I stupidly forgot my license.

The 2.5 is definitely a sweeter block but the 2.2 ain't bad. It's pumping out 170bhp which is hardly gutless. Having had an E39 SE and currently an E39 M-Sport I would definitely go with the Sport. Admittedly it's a little harder but no bone shaker. Handling and stance is far better on the Sport.

MPG around 20 urban and 30 motorway.

The 520 would get about 30 ish mpg on my daily commute. Not a snail either, it was able to go when I needed it to.

2.5 wouldn't be much worse (my E34 does about 28 through a 4 speed auto for example)

Why not drop those balls and get a V8, they do 22mpg

Just back from the Swords show after 4 hours, great craic and I met some very nice people.

    Anybody else there?

    22 combined, about 15 urban. ;)

My on board comp is reading 25.6mpg, at present, that's a good portion urban and then Sunday drives. Around town exclusively, that will drop to 22mpg.

€2.5k is more than enough to pay for a clean M-Sport unless it's ultra special. ;)

Carrying on from the 2.2/2.5 talk, would a 3.0i be much more to run than a 525 ignoring the tax difference.

All M54s are pretty much identical in terms of fuel consumption and maintenance.
    35 mpg on the 320ci
    31 mpg on the 325ci
    27 mpg on the 330ci.

8 mpg loss at a 61hp gain. It's not bad.
