I know it's a different era but it reminds me of Loaded magazine (is that still around) and that whole wretched mid-90s Lad culture miasma of Blair and middle-class streaks of musical piss like Sleeper, Menswear and Dodgy pretending to be football hooligans.

And "ladettes" like Sara Cox and Zoe Ball.

Somewhere, a teenage LAD is making a wreath out of suspiciously inflexible tissue paper, to lay at a cenotaph made of breast implants.

    Ew... horrible era.

    - TFI Friday
    - Ray Winston and east-end gang stuff being pounced on by posh lads
    - "Ladettes" like Denise Van Outen and Sara Cox and those chicks out of Sleeper and Echobelly (awful, AWFUL bands)
    - Everyone gettink into footie innit!
    - Robbie Williams pretending to be best mates with Oasis (cringe)
    - The "Choose life" monologue from Trainspotting being EVERYWHERE and getting rather tedious

I enjoyed TFI Friday I have to say. Apart from that you're spot on. So many rubbish indie bands.

Unfortunately not an April 1st gag, the magazine is to close due to poor circulation
My life is going to be so much emptier without getting to view India Reynolds, so can anyone recommend a good replacement?

Yeh I actually watched TFIF every week too; it was the TV show to sum up that era though.

I'd have thought you'd be less empty as a result of not staring at said smut until you almost go blind?

This helped steer me away from godawful nu-metal when I saw it as a lad. Still remember it like it was yesterday.

Jesus that is one of the worst excuses for music I've ever heard

Mens magazines by are all awful.

FHM made an attempt at bridging the gap between Nuts (Ben Sherman button up shirts) and Esquire (44 pages of adverts before you get to an article) but gave the game away when they let Tulisa's crowd bribe her way to #1. Yes I know they were all fixed but that should really have been a jump the shark moment for them.

Their late 90s fake porno stories with Grub Smith were awful too.

90's were great. The last decade where mainstream music was good.

Loaded/FHM/Nuts/Maxim etc - its a miracle they've all lasted as long as they have, although Maxim have a healthy circulation in the States.

In fact, think of almost anything specialist magazine wise and you'll find the same content online for free.
