    I'd well believe it :D

If you take down the back seats and the parcel shelf, you have a double bed :D

Bought my first ever Autoglym product today, great day for the parish!

And the pajero finally rolled over 100,000 miles. The first time in about a month I drove it, and I still missed it, even though I was watching it like a hawk up to now  Looks so much cooler when they all roll over, rather than the digital display on newer vehicles!

You'll be disappointed when you realise that you've just bought over priced, chemical-smelling fresh dairy cream!

Yay! All I really want it for is the wheels, leave the rest of the body to the pro's . Bit of an impulse buy really!

Be careful that Tar remover is strong stuff, don't leave it on paintwork for too long :)

What's the best tar remover to buy then out of interest if the autoglym is useless.

Autosmart Tardis is excellent and I would put OAC Tar Cleanse as a close second but it's a bit greasy. Also Holts Tar remover is good but very messy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

does Autosmart Tardis wash off with water? I've Holts Tar remover but find I pretty much need washing up liquid to get it off.

I suppose it's a bit much to expect a tar remover to be strong enough to remove tar but be mild enough to wash off with water or a mild car shampoo.

Started talking to a fella who came in to work today in a FD2. He said he personally went over to Japan to buy it and has the 233rd one built. Previously to it he had a Lime Green KP61 Drift car going around the Irish circuits and he also had an Escort RS2000! He almost sold the FD2 for an E92 M3 but couldn't bring himself to do it. His next plan is a VTEC powered Escort that he said he'll bring in to show me if he ever gets it done

It does but you'd be washing the car afterwards anyway to remove the residue. With that said, it doesn't leave anywhere near the amount of crap that Holts does.

Well one day I was trying to de tar the lower part of the car. Sprayed it with the holts stuff. After a few minutes hosed down the lower part of the car then went to wash it with my wash mitt. Once I got to the areas where I sprayed the holts the residue got all over my mitt and I was transferring it to the rest of the car. So then had to wash the whole car with washing up liquid and my mitt ect.

But I suppose tar needs a fairly harsh product to remove it.

I've used Concept Tar and Glue Remover and it was excellent. Just don't breathe in the fumes.

Autosmart Tardis is more like IPA as in it kind of flashes off and leaves feck all residue whereas Holts is like the grease in a chippers on a match day :pac:

On the hunt for a car to practice for my exam in and then to drive once I pass. Spotted a fantastic looking 2001 Focus on Donedeal, one owner car, low milage, FSH, taxed until August and NCT'd until next year..... looked well taken care of too. Couldn't get anyone to go with me and it was snapped up in a flash. Spotted another good looking deal so hopefully tomorrow I'll have a 'new' Focus sitting outside the house to practice with in between exams. Can't wait, quite excited...... hope it doesn't turn out to be a pile of poo.

Mark 1 Focus are actually a decent learner car. Good visibility (quite high up), easy controls, simple to judge.

I saw a Mercedes S-Class (W220) earlier today in Stephens Green car park, and the front AirMatic suspension had failed. It was sitting on the ground (Stanceworks style! :pac:), but the rear was regular height.

But I'd avoid using it on plastic bumpers as it, at least on mine leaves a very dull finish that needed polish to restore.

I've spotted a few Range Rovers driving around lately with collapsed front suspension. 1 of them I've seen daily for the past 6 months.

My e60 has this, presumed it was standard!

It very well might be standard on the e60, I don't know. What I do know is that it wasn't standard on the e92.

He showed me how heavy the bootlid was without the struts in it and my god the fooken thing weighs a ton!!

Yeah really annoying it's not standard! On the e39 it wasn't standard.
    Was it massively expensive??

Bit of reading shows its an option on the e60's too. Wonder did it cost much!
