I always miss that show, third year in a row I will, as I'll be out of country. Isn't too far from where I'm based either, so it's a shame.

Well national day is on 6th July Coulton Ford Mullingar. That's always a big event with many ford clubs attending.

Went to look at some diesel Alfas. I had more chance of hitting 50mpg in the GTI than I did getting the sales dudes attention long enough to snag a test drive.

That's a pity. Did you get to drive one in the end?

I have one but there's no fun in that :pac:

I'd even settle for a tape deck in the Worris, its still got the original radio. On good days I can get a station, I don't even know what it is..

    Nope.

It's a bit of fun making the tapes anyway! wouldn't want it to become a forgotten skill :D

Perfect (well the back left door is "noisy") only one of the fobs works at the moment, I think it's a flat battery :)

Could be that would be option A usually the micro switches wear cheap fix if you can solder

good luck with it - they are very robust aul lad does **** all checks between services

Sold the focus this evening :) the guy loved it and a mechanic checked it from head to toe and I told I'm about it cutting out when under 1/4 tank the mechanic said that's a common problem with them and it wasn't an issue really. It's been collected tomorrow. I sold it for a bit less than I hoped for but it's just time to move on from it at this stage :) ill set up a thread for the new car search in a while. It'll be a golf van anyway unfortunately I have to stick with the vans for another while happy enough though :)

I was in the car wash queue in Esso and the first thing I thought when I saw you was uh oh Dave would be so disappointed in me if he saw me here. :-)

    Harcrid.........I am disappoint :(

Today I got the passenger side brake pads done. I hate seized bolts!!! I was pushing down on one with the ratchet and it slipped and I hopped, I mean HOPPED by jaw off the disc! It's kinda bruised and very sore!

Also, I got boot pop-up struts installed by the guy who sold Ardennes his ones. Called to the house and all to fit them this morning. Really really sound chap!

He took videos so I'll upload when he has them done.

EDIT: video uploaded in post below.

Insurance reasons really. It's 1/3 the price for me to be on a golf van as a golf car.

I have to agree, would you not be better off just getting an estate?

That's why I asked the question tbh - but if the Golf van is a third of the price to insure as the car - that's a pretty compelling reason to have one if your insurance on the car would be high.

Soooo I'm just home. That was a long day :o

The last long distance trip to collect a car from Clare was expensive when the van was averaging 19mpg on mostly flat roads

Many months later with new Michelin green x/agilis tyres all round, a bit of injector pump work and a disconnected egr it averaged almost 26mpg to Newport and back with a heavier hape on the back

I'd whip the cat off only neither of us (me or the father) are arsed to do so due to the imminent idTD swap.

Its another 166 btw. Now to have a gander through this yoke and see what goodies I'll find! :D:D:D

Was in the back of a Skoda Superb on the way into town tonight. First time I've sat in the back. That yoke is absolutely massive. Felt like i was in a long wheel base 7 series. Crazy leg room, and awesome seats. Very impressed.
Come back to the light Alan.

    COME BACK !!!

If he's ever at a meet SG I'll let him sit in my car, it dwarfs any shkooda for leg room, front or back seats, and the boot well that's a different story :pac:

You could probably live in the boot of a 9 5 estate :D:D:D
