Just a query, not looking for medical advice as I don't think it's at that point. Basically about 2km in to a run I get some straining in the left groin. It niggles for the rest of the run. Lingers for a little while then but dissipates. I don't get it during weight training. Any suggestions on preventative action I can take etc...? Thanks for any help.

It's probably just a light strain. Running in a straight line won't aggravate it straight away. Just rest and even a bit of ice on it and in a few days you'll be fine.

Would sometimes get that, but it would always be within a week or two after a game of football when I didn't warm up/stretch properly. For me, just warming up a bit more and making sure I can stretch as much as possible was enough for it to eventually go away

Yea to be honest my warm up in terms of mobility and stretching is minimal..... I've probably only myself to blame but wanted clarification from more experienced runners... What are the best stretching for groin, hip flexor etc....?
