The good news is this really is the end of Moyes.

Lot of anger and its only going to get worse.
Don't think so Kew, we were expected to lose to City and we are still in CL QF so I think he will be here until Christmas at the very least.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,089 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Oh it would make perfect sense for the club to sack him now and get a new manager in so they can have the rest of the games to judge the players but with all the top managers in the CL still and the WC managers in Brazil soon. Its not possible.

if i was a Man Utd i would be wishing ye lost to Olympiakos

I would never want to see United lose a game. Tonight was no different.

But, at least with a awful result it might just bring Moyes reign at the club to a end sooner.

I've never been so passive watching United concede goals as I was tonight. I was resigned to it before it even happened.
This sums up my feelings exactly. Normally I would be furious watching a match like the one tonight and be in a bad mood until we played again, but at this stage it was completely expected and I hardly even reacted to the goals.

Anyone still in support of Moyes at this stage must be completely delusional.
Sure Moyes doesn't have the best team in the premier league at his disposal, but he sure as hell doesn't have only the 7th best team in the league either.

Our center midfield isnt amazing and our defence leaves a lot to be desired, but it isn't half as bad as Moyes makes it look. Carrick despite his limitations is still a fine player and was in the team of the year last year, and Fellaini is a very good defensive midfielder, while we probably have the best selection of young center backs in the league between Jones Evans and Smalling, not to mention arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

There are so many managers that would be delighted to have those players, but would also be having wet dreams at the thought of having an attacking set of RVP, Rooney, Mata, Kagawa, Januzaj and Nani, and even Welbeck Chicharito in reserve. If you had compared suarez sturridge coutinho and sterling with the first four I mentioned there at the start of the season there wouldn't even be a debate about which quartet are better, yet the liverpool 4 have 34 more goals then us this season, that says it all for me.

Even as a Moyes supporter results are damning - at any other club in the world he would be gone but maybe that's what sets us apart -

I never wanted Moyes to get the job and when he did I never understood how he got the biggest job in world football but as a fan you have to support him.

Tonight has to be the final straw. I was at the game and when I heard the starting 11 I wanted to go home. How on earth can Tom Cleverly be starting for us?

We went to Upton Park on Saturday evening and played reasonably well by our pathetic standards this season and he completely changes things tonight. Why change it? Why not take the game to City and give them something to think about instead of looking to stop them?

I could take us getting beaten if you could see some positive developments with tactics, players or formations but the truth is we're regressing. Awful play, awful tactics just awful.

David Moyes has to go! For the sake of the current squad, for the sake of the club, for the sake of every loyal fan and for the sake of my sanity.

I was happy when Moyes was appointed as I thought he would be able to continue on the good work Ferguson had done over 26 odd years but the fact of the matter is he is out of his depth. He seems like a good guy but this is not his level. I think there are many other clubs he could do a good job with but Man Utd are not one of them. He is a cancer and we are rotting slowly with him at the helm. Some of his comments recently have shown he doesn't know what he's doing. He said we could compete with anyone financially- no we can't. He said we could win the Champions League- not with him or that squad. I turned off the telly and threw the remote at the wall when he stated ''City are the team we aspire to be'', a team we finished 11 points above last season.

I don't want to see us becoming a revolving door club but this has gone beyond that. He was the wrong choice and it's time to face up to that.

what irks me is Moyes looks so happy giddity in his interviews after defeats like this, its like there's no pressure on him at all and he continues to say the wrong things. Ferguson is just stepping on toes now

But if we were beaten say 8-0 over 2 legs?(Its so bad I nearly take that now)

I want him out before any more damage is done, if it means being killed by Bayern so be it. Im just glad the fans that showed up at OT are finally copping on.

My brother mentioned during the match imagine you had bought a season ticket to watch the ****e on display this season

Citys first goal tonight was pure Keystone Cops stuff. We were like statues and they were just strolling around our box , no tackles going in , nobody attempting to make a challenge apart from Rafael. Watch Evra for the first goal. it set the tone for the whole night. A Manchester Derby and a Liverpool game and we hardly put in a tackle

It was a pretty easy interview though.
Even said to him "of course losing Tom Cleverley to injury didn't help" as if United were in some way unlucky, or played well while Cleverley was on the pitch

There was none really. It was like everybody knew it was going to happen and a lot of people left before the final whistle.

Maybe I missed it though as I was in my own world.

Only thing we learned tonight is Scholes and Neville should be managing the club. Their zeroBS insight tonight was refreshing and their love for the club came through very strongly.

Sets us apart? That we are accepting mediocrity and aspiring to be Manchester City? Are you still a Moyes fan? I would wonder if there is any left at this stage!

But we dont know what he said. Unless you do?

What happns if he just went over and said "this is not good enough"

He could be season ticket holder for years. Cant really judge by 1 photo can you?

In fairness to Shreeves to he called him out on saying United needed to aspire to Citys level

Have to say Scholes is a very good honest pundit
