    Oh no :(

Most of that stuff is easy enough to fix if you are handy.

    Battery mounting......no problem
Number plate lights should be easy even if you have to wire a new feed to them.
Roll bar bushes and drop links are normally cheap to sort, routine stuff
    Brake lines, scrub and polish;)
New discs are easy enough to fit.
I know you wanted it to pass but a couple €100 and a bit of effort should sort it.
    What car was it btw?

Will it be okay just to polish up the brake lines?
Also, number plate lights are pass/advisory.

Yeah, it's not THAT bad... and here's the car.

Once they are not corroded and look right they will pass a rub with scotch brite and a bit of paint can work wonders. If they are frayed or damaged you will have to replace them. Not difficult, just a pain in the arse to bleed them after.

I just checked the prices for everything on Micks Garage...

€138.58 for a pair of brake discs, drop link, wheel bearing kit and 3 brake hoses. So it's not too bad, and I still might be able to sort it out a bit cheaper. :P

Pm me with all you need man and I'll get a quote off a guy in the trade I know. I once got all discs and pads and two flexis for 130.

Although that looks bad it really isn't, easy enough pass :)

Fear not, mostly trivial stuff and won't be too hard to source

    How are the hubs assembled?

Actually my post wasn't related to yours at all hah I had this experience twice at the weekend and once again on the way to work this morning. I can't begin to describe how bloody annoying it is! 40km/h on a road that has a limit of 100km/h and not 1 chance to safely overtake the whole journey!!!!

They should just build those cars with 2 ramps over its body so people can just drive over it.

That would be like something youd see on a James Bond movie :D

Micra or Yaris getting in the way - over you go.

Could be interesting in something like a Range Rover

I think Top Gear could get something out of that idea ;)

It's official - if you ever have the misfortune of being stuck behind a Nissan Micra, you're going to be late for whatever/wherever it is you're going to!!

    I feel your pain.
I used to have a micra:eek: one of the boxy ones, while it wasn't even remotely quick I never got in any bodies way!
It went flat out 100% of the time:D slow down for that bend........not fcukin likely, roundabout.......keep er lit, overtaking was an art form:p

My Dad always told me, "it's not what you drive, it's how you drive it" and you know what?.......he was right!

The boxy Micras are my favourite. :)

I had mine for 2 yrs, apart from service stuff it got 2 front shocks and a clutch (both pretty knackered when I bought it coz it was a jap import)
I abused that car every day for those 2 yrs and it just kept going.

'It's not how you stand by your car, it's how you race your car'

Shoulda kept that boxy and stuck a set of superlites on it. Would fetch €4k no bother! :D

Would the spotlights I had under the front bumper and huge speakers I had attached to the rear parcel shelf add anything to that :pac:

It was an 86 so I doubt it would still be alive no matter how I minded it.

Not good GvidoR, you failed on alot of stuff. Did the brakes not feel funny when you were driving the car?

True, but all of that can be sorted and hopefully it won't cost me over €100 for the whole lot. No, the brakes didn't seem funny. I stops quite well.

If brake lines were bad enough to effect pedal feel they wouldn't let you drive it out of the test centre ;)

It's all fairly minor stuff really.

How did you not think to check the bulbs. You obviously knew you would fail on something if you sent it in with blown bulbs. But as was said the list is not that bad.

I hope my car passes next month, it's a 98 so alot of parts could be worn like yours without me knowing it.

Oh right, so what happens they tell you it's too bad to drive home and they keep the car and you have to make your own way home.

All bulbs are working fine. Colts don't have number plate lights at all though. They are a pass / advisory anyway.

Ah right sorry I didn't realise that. I thought you never checked them. One less thing to do I suppose :)

They don't keep it, you have to trailer it away.

If I ever needed a 7 seater, I'd have one of these over an MPV!
