The feeling when you've had your hair tied up tight all day and you don't even realise how tight it was til you take it down. Such a nice feeling!

Pressing the button for the lift and it's already at your floor. The sight of the door opening immediately is fantastic! :)

The satisfaction of getting away with a desperate silent fart amongst other people and keeping an 'oblivious' and straight face

Giving a satin wrapped box of 5 star chocolates to someone after they've just suffered a day that's had them sobbing for an hour or more.

A batch of chips when the vendor has been generous enough to add an extra 15 or so chips simply because they're a kindly soul.

Had my flights from Ireland back to Japan rescheduled because SAS plane had some problem. It resulted in a delay of about 8 hours in total, but on the rescheduled flight from Paris to Tokyo, we were upgraded to business class. It would have cost 28 thousand dollars for us to buy those tickets.

The best bit was at the start, with my kids sleeping either side of me, and my wife in a different row. Two girls were making their way past, stopped to comment in my cute sleeping children, and then one of them looked at me suspiciously, in my scruffy hoodie, and quietly asked the other one, 'what kind of job does he do?'

Maybe I'm missing something there but if you just got into a lift and pressed the button for your floor(or were going to) and the door opens immediately, I can only assume you're already on the right floor!? :s

Especially on a work day, and you are heading home.

On a day off, indoors, wind whistling in chimney, and being cosy and warm, nice cuppa in hand.

I'm happy that it's nearly time for the new season of Game of Thrones.

I keep thinking about Easter, I can have some yummy carby things then and some very large drinks, it's no fun having 6 weeks without junk food and booze:(

The difference in regional Irish accents both in Irish and English and the fact that accents are not yet sounding overly like some sh1tehouse reality TV show where yank girls insert "like" into every sentence after every third word.

If you keep a straight face they'll all know it was you. The trick is to cover your tracks by sniffing slightly and looking around with a faint expression of disgust of your face.

One of the things I'm really thankful for as I get older is that I've become a lot more appreciative of the simple things. Like my local chipper - a quirky little place with great food. I really forward to a visit there on some weekends.

Being up and about early for a stroll on the beach with the doggies on a sunny bank holiday morning

Coming in out of the rain and wind and eventually settling down with a cuppa tea putting the feet up and making the universal 'ahhh' sound.

    Random compliments from strangers.
Some girl stopped me on the street the other day and my gut reaction was to speed up and avoid eye contact thinking it was a chugger.
She just said "you're really pretty" and smiled.
    So unexpectedly lovely.

    Also on the list:
    Marks n Spencers percy pigs.
    Spooning
