Found my dream car. It literally couldn't be any better wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but I'd love one. Being sold locally and my dad knows the guy well that's selling it. Pity I'm in no position to get it. I love cars; owning, driving maintaining them. But the whole buying and selling them just wrecks my head. When ever your not in a position to buy one there loads that are lovely. Then when you sell and are trying to find something it's impossible. Might keep the focus yet and to be fair to it there's absolutely nothing really wrong with it and its drives perfectly I just never liked it :( I suppose time will tell.

Highline mk6 golf. Not much point in going into it too much. Chances are it will be sold by the time I get to it. Ah sure it's one of those things if I can get it great if can't no harm done.

Current dream car. When I qualify I'll be getting a megane 225 or rs250 or a Clio 197. There my overall dream car I love the Renault sport range serious cars. The 20mpg thing won't work for me at the moment and at 19 I would get insurance on anything fast anyway.

You'd be surprised what cars you can get insured on at 19. I'm 19 and had I not had a crash I would've been able to get insured on a 3.0 BMW 5 Series.....

I had that same response when I threw it into the online quote system. FBD by the way. They drew the line at an M3 :pac:

That's balls :pac: They'l insure you on that but they point blank refused to insure me on the 9-5

Actually, I lied, I said I was 20 in the quotes as I will be next month, not sure if that makes much of a difference.

This quote was on a friends 530D with No No Claims Bonus and three years named driving.

I was looking to change to an old E-class coupe (2.2L 150bhp auto) but AA (my broker) didn't want to hear anything about it. It wasn't a level of car they're interested in.

I just checked on FBD, and I could get a policy for the same as what I'm paying on the A-class. :D

All I need now is money! :pac:

Ahh that's why, I've always had my own policy, no named experience, 2 years ncb though

    That bites! :(

Who'd you get to insure you in the end?

This quote was gotten in my own name, under no one else. Surely yours would've been cheaper as you've got actual No Claims. This quote is also cheaper than my brother was paying last year on his 1.4 Civic :pac:

Same here, 2 years NCB with no named driver experience.

The most annoying part about all this insurance lark is once I add the crash claim to an FBD policy they won't even insure me in my own name on a 1.0 Yaris :(

I think the reason for everyone running from me was "oh its a very big engine (2.3) oh and its a turbo, jaayyyysus you're mad for even looking at that"

One guy actually suggested i sell it and buy a corsa

    FBD here too, 04 320ci M-Sport, paying 1470 a year for TPFT.
At 20, 2 years named driver experience.
The back kicked out on the N4 ramp today while I was going to work :pac: crappy tires, wet, cold = tail happy e46.
DSC was there to save me though!

Insurance is weird. I just threw in your reg under the exact same policy and got refused. Stupid turbos.

Pretty sure that guy that suggested the Corsa was just a troll :pac:

I had problems getting a quote for a 316i with all but Liberty. And it was 2100 for it.
Happy enough with my 1470 :D

I just have to wait now until my crash clears. Aviva and a few other clear them after 3 years which will be this year but unfortunately they won't quote me on anything like what FBD will do.

I'll be going for one of these. Most likely an E220 or 220CE. Petrol only. :P

I still get the same comments when ringing brokers and the likes at 25. It's a joke really.
