    Thank God no!

One crash in 2009 and my car was stolen a month before that as well.

Do you find it harder to get insurance as you had the crash in 2009. My mother crashed in our driveway (no 3rd party involved claims wise) in 2009 about 10k euros worth of damage and the insurance companies are still making a big deal over it.

No it's never been an issue. I had step back bonus protection so my cert is still showing the max of 5 years plus I have always declared it to them. Once I got passed 3 years of claim free driving since the crash it was fine.

I must ask here again as I know it was a bit of an issue last year not sure about this year. I think they said after 5 years the claim will be no issue.

Another question with regards claims, I assume they still apply to me even though I was a named driver at the time and not the policy owner.

The likes of Yellow Stuffs and DS2500 I've seen as been highly suggested against for a road car. Supposedly take too much heat for a road car too make their operating temp and then wear at a ridiculous rate. There's guys in the UK even questioning the legality of putting DS2500s on a road car.

Not true. Yellow stuffs bite fine from cold, whether they can be used for a high speed emergency stop from your first use is questionable maybe, but is that a realistic scenario?

Most people would be flattered by you talking pics of there car. I was once in supervalu Kilkenny during the summer and I was walking across the car park and seen couple look at my car and saying how clean it looked and it made my week :) I'm sure a picture would have the same effect.

I was passed by a Carina E smoking like it was 1999 earlier in Dublin. Was it CHP as I immediately thought of him when I spotted it. The car was battered to shyte :D

Hmmm, I have around 1400 photos of cars I've photographed around Ireland in the last 3 years :o

I've been car spotting 3 years (started in March 2011 coincidentally) and I've had a few odd looks and just a handful of people inquire as to what I was doing taking a photo of their car, but I've never had anyone object or get nasty for taking a photo.

The only "bad" experience I can thing of would be when I was taking a photo of a car and a guy in a van next to the car said "you better not get this van in your photos" to which I replied "is that because your tax is out"? He shut up quickly and I went about my business.

No but I was watching the united match earlier. Great game. They have no chance of progressing any further in the CL especially when they go up against the good teams.

Is there any way to filter DoneDeal searches to just Southern reg's?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,031 ✭✭✭Bpmull

I was just flicking through donedeal through boardom really. Seen one add for a van ad says "this van is mechanically perfect" flick through the pics one of the clocks eml and service light on (the something wrong service light as opposed to the ones that remind you that the car needs a service). I can't understand why someone would say that about a van when it has obvious faults without even seeing it. Looking always gives you a few laughs if nothing else :pac:

No not as such. You can exclude the northern counties, if that's any help. The cars registrations aren't available to the public in the done deal database, so you can't exclude certain ones.

Not good. When I was working a few years ago that was a daily occurrence for me, but now that I don't do anything my hands are in great shape. Except recently I was fixing a tumble dryer for my mother and slashed my fingers on some sharpe metal. Not good at all and no plasters either bit of paper and insulating tape, job done. Only problem with that go to bed with it still on wake up next morning your finger goes septic.

Ouch! I hate when that happens. I once lacerated my finger trying to dismantle a doorcard, coildn't use it for weeks and weeks :(

At least there were plasters, none here. Bit of cotton and maskin tape :(

I'm trying to find an old thread I set up last year. It was about how much the 05 octavia was worth I know it's obviously not worth the same now but I remember a few good things being mentioned on it and want to read through it again. Is there some way of filter downing to see the threads I set up rather than just one I posted in ?
