Having just arrived in Blighty a week ago I haven't observed too many differences. The humour is the same really. I suppose us Irish would be similar to people from the north england. We are also perhaps a bit more laid back and 'ah sure it'll be grand like'. The English are a bit more serious and less open  . Hard to tell though after a short space of time.

The Irish are obsessive about the difference between the Irish and British, while the British are not.

The enlightened culture on the main land generously civilised the savage wood people of hibernia. We're almost human now.

Well I would have had the same question about the last country I lived in Hong kong, but to be honest its so obvious there's no need to ask.

-The Brits love a good Queue. The Irish will skip the Q or bitch and moan about it.

    - I also find Irish people will take the piss out of anything but the Brits are a little more PC.

-Irish people drink pisswater in pubs the British drink quality ales and ciders.

I like to think as the two countries as been the most similer countries around but with small differances that make us unique in our own way.

Big time trolling! They learned that from 'us' though, with our brief rule of Scotia.

No they're not. Annual MOT is better at maintaining cars than bi-annual NCT.

As much as I'd like to, I can't disagree with anything there. Personally, I enjoy quality beer though.

So true. Wise and generous leader that he was, Stalin actually based his own civilising plans for the savages in the Ukraine on the 19th century English model for Ireland. Looks like they are emulating the 20th century model now too!;)

Good point, would Irish people with a 10 year or older car be equally as good as a British person because 10 year and older cars need annual Nct?

There are millions of people in both countries, stereotyping doesn't cut it. I'm born and raised in Ireland and I fit in no way to the Irish stereotype, my folks are English and act nothing like British stereotypes. There is differences between individuals at the end of the day.

I'm going to have to disagree based on the fact that my British accent has most definitely been seen as a positive trait by a number of Irish women..

I prefer an Irish accent on a girl more than a UK one though....so cute :D
