Where to buy dumbbells in Dublin City Centre?

Need to get a set of dumbbells today for physio purposes, so where can I get a good set of dumbbells in a bricks and mortar shop?

I see Argos have some sets, but curious where else I can check.

I would recommend cast iron ones, I have never seen anybody recommend the cheapo vinyl ones.

elverys have them on offer, but they could be vinyl, they have started making vinyl ones in black lately.

many people rule out buying online since they presume post will be huge, but amazon are free post if over £25

Cheers, I was looking at this cast iron set from Argos http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9282898/Trail/searchtext%3EDUMBBELLS.htm .. although the actual total weight is only 15kg.

Normally I would buy online, but need them this eve.

That's a decent price from argos, its hard to get them under €2 per kilo these days.

It is the correct/usual terminology for the weight so its no scam, its a 20kg set, the plates do tot up to 15kg but the bars and spinlocks will make up the rest. I know my handles are about 2kg each.

I like the fact you get 4x1.25kg plates, mine came with little pissy 0.5kg plates, which may be good for small increment raises but just took up room on the bar and I never really valued them.

As you progress you can get yourself some 5kg plates.

A full 50kg barbell set may be more cost effective in the long run. But you would manage carrying the 20kg set out of argos no bother.

I like the rubberised handle as opposed to the metal handle plus the collar doesn't come loose as can happen with the metal bars.

Not too bothered about lack of a case.

Reckon it's a good set?

EDIT: Too late, I got 'em. Came packaged in unmarked cardboard box, but they seem to be excellent quality and the grip is superb. Recommended.
