    Master of the Universe

Here's a more modern one, I haven't played any of the Mario Galaxy games through to completion. Probably played about 60% of the first one but got distracted before it was done.

I also haven't gotten all 96 exits in Super Mario World but we've discussed that already :pac:

Edit; I've also never actually completed the first Super Mario Bros start to finish.

    Lots of Mario related shame!

I've never finished a Zelda game. I get most of the way through and get bored towards the end. Same with every one of them. They're still great games, I just can't do 40 hours of one.

To be fair that's a tough game. I was trying recently to do a no warp pipe run and kept getting killed by the world 6 boss.

You're talking about the first NES game, not the Lost Levels? I must go back and play it. Never remembered it being overly difficult or we were just much better players as kids.

Yeah the original NES game. I never had a NES so didn't play it as a kid much but going into it relatively cold it's a very tough game. In most mario games you can ignore coins but it you want to get enough lives to see the end of super mario bros you need to be collecting as many as possible.

I never finished Galaxy 2. I got bored quite quickly with it! And I'd played right through Galaxy 1, collected most of the stars.

Same. Well, I didn't find it boring just got distracted and never went back to it.

Similar story with the Metroid Prime games on the GC. Loved and finished the first one, second one was a bit meh in comparison I thought so didn't stick with it. No. 3 still sitting on the shelf.

This one will probably upset Cidey, but I never got into the Wipeout games. They looked great at the time but I could never get used to handling (or it annoyed me enough to never get good at it). They weren't a match for the F-Zero series either, especially the GC version.

The only Metroid games I've completed are Zero Mission and Other M.

Ouch! I loved Zero Mission. The Zero suit bit was even good, enforced stealth bit that fits with the game!

Other M was a bit of a shambles, but had some good elements to it.

Super Metroid and the Prime games were much better than Other M though!
Zero Mission was better than Fusion, so there's that at least. Fusion does touch on "Adam" too story wise though.

In saying that, I've never finished the NES Metroid, or Metroid 2

I did a straight run through Wipeout on the PS at a Gamesworld party one time, no one was watching :(
The original is poor compared to later editions and, like Burnout, the real fans love the second one, in this case 2097, a nice game indeed.

NES Metroid has not aged well. Both games don't have avmap so you need to get the graph paper out to get anywhere.

A real reason to feel shame would be being an advocate for Zelda on the CDi.
If only I knew someone that deluded...

I just can't get into SRPGs.
I keep seeing Disgea in its various guises in shops but never buy as I don't get them and don't want to look a t1t trying to play and sailing on the fail boat.

Any RPG with turned based combat .

I can't get in to them and find them boring as hell, the likes of Final Fantasy and all others all have passed me by unnoticed :(

Give fire emblem a go. If you liked advance wars then you'll like it since its pretty much a RPG version of that game.

Try something with a good trn based combat system then because final fantasy for the most part is very simplistic and dull with a few exceptions. Something like the shin megami tensei series or Grandia actually need strategy to do well in battles whereas in ff you'll find outside of boss battles spamming attack will do.

For me turn based is always far better than any real time system since the good turn based games require some strategy as opposed to real tie which is just spamming attack or watching your characters do all the work in a typical western RPG.

I love SRPGs but I just don't get Disgaea. It's all too abstract and the cutesy style doesn't cut it either.

Fire Emblem is your only man.

Don't forget Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3!

I have never made it to the last Boss of, and consequently have never beaten, Sonic the Hedgehog.

This is despite buying the game near enough to 10 times via a genesis copy, virtual console, a mega drive copy at a market, god knows how many compilation games and most recently on my android phone.

Have you just never stuck it to the end, or did you find it hard for some reason?

It's one of the easier games of that generation :)

I just never beat it as a Kid and when I revisited it years later it was mostly through compilations so I'd play it for a few minutes and then try something else. It's just a time thing I suppose, I'm too comfortable knowing that it's there and that I can play it any time I want... just have to dedicate time for it and get through it.

I could play it on my lunch break but I've enough distractions in place already (have new comics to read, half-way through a book, want to go for a lunch break run, want to just browse the web etc...).

Maybe this thread could have a redemptive quality... whereby we can set ourselves a target to right one of our above wrongs by a certain date and the very act of committing to same on here would force us to complete same...?

Sure, as if that will happen with Dark Souls 2 out this Friday.
