Feel sorry for the yoof these days...they'll never know the joy of Joe Dolce

I just hope BBC Four is still going by the time the TOTP repeats get to the Joe Dolce v Ultravox deathmatch.

Presumably the BBC Three kids will migrate down the dial to Four, TOTP repeats will be as close as they will get to programmes for Da Kidz.

I see HMV are opening a new shop in Grafton Steet, Dublin.

Real Music Shops are back! I always said downloading would be a passing fad.

Really? Fantastic. I never go into hmv without dropping at least €20. Those of us who still use cds in the car are very grateful to see them back.

Plus they are sooo cheap. Got Led Zep at the bbc for €8 in dundrum the other week.

Creation made a balls of that ... the Oasis single was more expensive, and some of their sales didn't scan properly so they weren't counted.

    Here you go

    http://www.irishtimes.com/business/sectors/retail-and-services/hmv-to-reopen-on-dublin-s-grafton-street-1.1716378
Entertainment retailer HMV is to reopen on Dublin’s Grafton Street barely a year after it was forced to close its flagship store on the same street.
Owners Hilco Capital said yesterday the new branch would be located in the old A-Wear premises and would lead to the creation of 35 new jobs.
The store is expected to be up and running within three months.

    Wasn't Country House £1.99?

    No fair!

Blur were funny. When they were good, they were really good. But I never really take them seriously for some reason.

I like them both - very different but both top bands.

There were some discounted copies, but in general the Blur single was cheaper

    http://stopcryingyourheartoutnews.blogspot.ie/2008/08/on-this-day-in-oasis-history.html
In the end, Blur's "Country House" single sold 274,000 copies to Oasis' 216,000 copies of "Roll with It". The singles charted at number 1 and number 2 respectively however many believe Blur won tactically selling their single for £1.99 compared to Oasis £3.99 single price.

Band Aid would be the biggest selling single, but it sold out everywhere. You couldn't buy it anywhere.

Pressing companies were working 24 hours (for free) to get it back on the shelves.

That war always bother me because Roll With It, in my opinion, was one of the worst songs on that album.

But yeah, both great in their own way.

The Blur single was also available on more formats - 2 CD's, vinyl and cassette, Oasis - 1 CD and Vinyl.

    Ah, that's a pity.

You must have a bookload of stories to tell about the stage.

'First Positions - Tales of Kym Marsh and other actors' by Welsh Megaman.

    I would buy that!

    WM is an Actor
I've been in the Rovers :)

    As an extra/background artist :(

Arrive at Granada studios at stupid o'clock
Get looked down upon by the 'seasoned' extras
Brought onto the set nearly 12 hours later
Say an awkward 'hi' to Kym Marsh
Get told by crew not to stand too close to Kym Marsh
Get told by crew what to do on 'action' - pretend to drink, pick nose etc.
    Repeat about 12 times
Get a warning from Kym Marsh's security
Allowed to have sandwiches from the tray...after cast and crew
    Wait another hour
    Sign out and go home
    Cheque six weeks later

If you're near Easons O'Connell street tomorrow... :D

Used to work as a lowly extra/background artist - one of my first jobs was Peter Kay's 'Britain's Got The Pop Factor' starring Dr. 'Not an actual doctor' Fox :D

Saw some of that 37 days yesterday. Bit unsettling, when you see Angela Merkel taking time to talk to the lads in Trinity on the news today
