Whats the email to email the cashback form rather than post?

    Thanks

That would be handy I thought you had to apply via post.

Did you order the plain server or a bundle kit?

At the time, you just needed one, or both. So I went for the Server itself. Don't really need a carepack as a home user. The Promotions company didn't have the serial number listed against valid serial numbers, so ServersDirect refunded me the difference.

I got it from here: http://www.serversplus.com/servers/tower_servers/hp_tower_servers/704941-421

its the one without the 3 year warranty, as the one with the 3 year warranty went up in price. So this is £97.94 after the £100 rebate.

Was free UK delivery to parcel motel too (with their free delivery code), and it fit in the large locker in parcel motel

looks like its out of stock now tho

Hi, could you confirm that you bought from the UK seller, delivered via ParcelMotel and used the Irish Euro form to get your cash-back successfully?

    Thanks.

I can confirm that I bought from serversplus a few months ago, used parcel motel. At the time I think there may only have been the uk form available for that particular month so I mentioned on the form I wanted the cheque in euro. But fill in the irish form and it will be fine. They know the story anyway enough of us have bought them in the last year or two from the UK and they are fine with it as the promotion is on in both the UK and Ireland.

Ordered mine on Sunday night, received in my Parcel Motel locker at 7pm on Tuesday, super quick! I purchased the 3 year care pack with mine, and after submitting it via email with the cashback form, they initially didnt add the €79 to the rebate cheque, I emailed them about this, and they said they made a mistake and added it on, so just be careful. It says it takes 45 days from receipt of confirmation to receive the cheque, anybody who has got this before like to confirm how long it roughly took them?

    Lads,

I finally got my server set up exactly as I want it but I am running out of space so I want to move the 250gb drive which I got with the server and which I am using as the OS drive, up to the ODD bay. Is it possible to run the required cable up, move the drive into the bay and change the boot sequence in BIOS to ensure the system boots from the old drive in the new location and not the new drive which will be slotting in in its place?

    Yeah you can:

Boot priority can be set in the BIOS, but probably not needed as its probably the only drive that is bootable.

I did that very thing. You will need an adapter to connect the 4 pin molex to the SATA style power connector on the back of the drive. You will need a fairly lengthy SATA cable too... to keep it tidy, it needs to be routed around the back of the drive trays. Finally, you will need a 3.5 - 5.25 drive cage.

Thanks for the quick replies lads. Was just checking that I will be able to move the drive without having to reinstall everything again. I have bookmarked witness's blog and Gerry's shopping list for future reference, thanks again lads

Assume people know to use MSFREENDUK for free next day shipping with serverplus? They have 270 left in stock. 298 yesterday

Thanks Dan - This deserves a quote to add a little more prominence as I almost missed it & can confirm its still in place (used parcel locker) - In fact the saving inspired me to upgrade from the Sapphire Radeon 5450 to 6450 which has a lot more grunt :)

I'd appreciate any current and up to the minute advice on the cheapest route to 2X4GB RAM please if anyone out there can advise.

BUT - If thats too pricey is anyone selling their cast aside 2GB RAM - Please do PM etc.

    - Thanks to all for their contributions, advice and great ideas/suggestions on here - V much appreciated.

As I said earlier and I believe others were the same you are looking at 40+ days. It does say it on the form, though I did think at the time they were just allowing themselves that length of time but no, it seems accurate.
