What would have happened if the bold countries never found africa or south africa and never took them as slaves or plundered their resources?
Would it be a thriving place now if it never had any dealings with the whiteman or would it have died out due to a famine or something like aids?
    Ive no idea have you?

Its hard to know, on thing for sure is the place was badly carved up by aul whitey. Leaving different warring tribes and ethnic groups under one country and their kin in another.

Suits us though. Make a majority-friendly country and take what ya want. Or keep them warring a bit and take what ya want.

I think your forgetting a lot of the warring is of their own making. Just like everywhere else they don't need an excuse to kill each other.

They would have enslaved us, stolen our resources and completely redrawn the internal borders of Europe.

It's not like they didn't try!

I don't know about that, theres still an awful lot of meddling going on. I don't know if Africa would be a paradise had the Europeans left it alone, but it would almost certainly be less ****ed up than it is now.

Blame the white man, it's just easier to accept that explanation.

Yeah all those different tribes really get on don't they.... I'm sure back in the past they were all holding hands/hugging each other as well.

He is probably referring to the mass and persistant transfer of assets from the continent

Ah ok so that's the only reason people cant eat... Buying massive army's transferring the wealth to your immediate family clan and so on has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Samuel L Jackson's character in Django Unchained suggests otherwise.

The lack of transparency in systems of administration from colonial times onwards and the fostering of corrupt governance to facilitate asset stripping by previous colonial countries and companies from those countries as well as a host of new entrants such as China would play a large part

No they weren't, but they also didn't force themselves to live under the same political system in the same state as each other.

I'm guessing most of it would still be as it was before the first white-men got there.
An iron age society with a hell of a lot less people as they would have just continued slaughtering each other wholesale and selling those they didn't kill to the Arabs, as they had been doing for multiple generations up to and for some time after the arrival of the first white-men.

We'd have no reggae, apart from some of the early stuff by The Police.

And we can only speculate as to what the current advertising campaign for Guinness would be.

Slavery and Muslim conquest in Africa is much older than the European colonisation but I like to think it would have been less bad overall today if they hadn't been subjected to Europeans as well. The technology would have been slower to develop but the minerals and oil trade would have made African countries incredibly rich (not all countries but many).

Why wouldn't we have reggae? Jamaica isn't in Africa.

And how much of that would have affected the lives of ordinary people vs lining the pockets of the leaders and their supporters? Think Mugabe and his ilk.

The only difference would be who was doing the 'exploitation'.

Africa probably wouldn't have radio yet.
