Firstly, apologies for no photos, vids etc (there is a vid but no light and only low quality sound), anywho.......

Went out for a shot this evening to a relatively new permission where I took a nice red hind a short while back. I lay up on the side of a ditch covering off a wide field on the edge of a forest. The light was slow to fade but it was a pleasant evening. Just as everything began to fade to grey I heard some trashing from the direction of the forest slightly off to my left.
The heart picked up the pace as the noise grew in intensity. I knew animals frequently broke through the fields hedge rows to gain entry to the fields. I watched and waited and waited and watched. The noise grew closer but no sign, what where they up to, where they ripping their way along the hedge row that I was sitting beside that divided the two fields?.
I slowly rose to my feet and looked through the hedge to my left. There running up and down the field was two magnificent red stags joasting with each other. This went on for about 15 mins and at once stage they where no 10m away from me. My knees turned to jelly watching the two boys tussell.
Roll on next September...........by the way has any one a tow truck?

I'd say it was some sight, I'd even watch a poor quality video of it tbh

Unfortunately the video is pitch black with just a bright sky line showing at the top and a lot of faint grunting and antlers clashing.......... a bit like holiday snaps, you needed to be there to appreciate them.

Ya can say that again. The lad above broke the beam of the shed he was hung in when he was winched up. Was over 160 kg (IIRC)

you'll know you've dragged a full red. What till Sept. If you get a pop at one the lads you seen, well enjoy it. :D

Those red deer are certainly very tough work but leave some lasting and great memories.

I was very lucky one morning, I stayed in bed and missed a call to help with a drag :P Took 3 lads around 3 hours to drag a monster stag a few hundred yards over rough ****ty ground.
