It was sarcasm. I think that you could use some saving yourself.

So you accept the point, and you accept the definition of a theory? You'll be amending your arguments then?

Uh, you were the one who suggested that you were about to commit suicide by jumping out of a window. To wit:I'm happy that somebody from the scientific side of the debate was able to save you from your own stupidity!

BTW, are you saying that you now trust government-funded scientists? If so, well, that's progress :)
Really, and you are a moderator on this site?? How did you come by this position??

If you read the post I already accepted the definition of theory when this was first pointed out. I conceded that there were a number of definitions for theory as per the dictionary. Hold on I'll find it

Thank you for your information. Very helpful. Maybe I have been using the word incorrectly, this is why I asked the question. I did look it up but it seemed to have a number of different meanings.....

But the continuous stream of lies from the anti-fluoride lobbyists doesn't worry?Having read some of Waugh's incoherent ramblings, I can confidently say that he doesn't have a clue about what he's doing.

To be honest, I feel rather sorry for him - that he can make himself so annoyed about something which is so transparently, and so obviously, completely wrong.

It's like reading a "Rant Against Leprechauns" by somebody who thinks a leprechaun stole his wallet.

He has a MSc i believe , i take it he gets paid for these "reports"? He is playing them for fools in my opinon.

I'm pretty sure that there is legislation regarding encouraging people to commit suicide. Joking aside you are opening yourself and boards .ie up here.. Not to mention the fact that you don't know a thing about me. I could be any age and in any state of mind. It is not an issue for me don't get me wrong, I won't be committing suicide but there is no way that you could know.

I never said that I didn't trust science or scientists. I said that I didn't trust the Irish government's scientist. I came on this post to make a point about people being personally insulting to others for no real reason, you have just proven that point,. You seriously need to think about this.

Does she cycle around Dundrum with a high vis jacket that has 'fluoride is bad for you' or something on the back?

I was walking up the mainstreet and a man in a car was roaring at her because she was all over the road.

They have the right to protest but not the right to lie about the effects of fluoridation which is what Waugh et al are doing.
No, they don't have the right to lie.. I agree with you on this. I haven't read his report.

It wouldn't be a suicide though - it would be an experiment in stupidity leading to a Darwin award.

So you're saying that if the government asks scientists for advice, they should find people who have no opinion?

So, industry makes billions out of -- random list -- toothbrushes, car safety belts, traffic lights, air traffic safety systems and anti-biotics.

Do you think these are bad because leading scientists think they're good?

If you're looking for a bread recipe, do you try find somebody who doesn't have an opinion?

You're not making any sense at all.

all the people on that forum are pro fluoride by default

if they where really serious they should have added a toxicologist to the forum for starters

And the government is not interested in stopping fluoridation ... That whole forum is a farce

Toxicologist study the mechanisms of toxicity , what would they have to add given the lack of any toxic effects at low doses?

That is not the point. He is a moderator and that is a dangerous game for him to play. I am pointing this out to him for his own information. I have no further comments to make to him or you on this thread. But look into the laws on it. For your own sake

yes we have. It was an 8'th story window. Maybe the stories are very low?? Anyway I am saying this not for my sake but for his..

Story is not a standard unit of measurement.

Did I say that it was. My point is that saying "why don't you" go jump out of an eight story window is not an appropriate thing for the moderator to say to a user of the site. Especially as at no point have I insulted him or any of the rest of the people on this forum in any way. He should read up on the rules of boards and of common decency, not to mention the cyrrent legislation regarding cyber bullying. Disgraceful..

You might want to think about your accusation more carefully, and read the charter.

Oh guy incognito I am all too aware that some of the things I consume are poisoning me. I do try to limit my exposure by growing a lot of my own food and making my own wine etc but there is only so much you can do. I try to buy organic food as much as possible but it is so much more expensive, it is difficult to eliminate all pesticides but believe me I am working on it!!! I am luckin fairness to live in the countryside, but then there are the agricultural poisons from other farms etc....

What if I said organic food was much worse for you? I don't have much basis for that but I just made myself a foodiologist so you can trust me.

It kind of is in many cases funnily enough (not much worse, but worse due to the nature of the "natural" chemicals used).

I'd say feck it have I gone to all this extra effort for no reason, then I'd look it up and make the best judgement on it i could.. I would ask you if you really believed this or were just messing with me and if I thought you really thought it i would say that you are entitled to your opinion!!

I have no idea what that means and i don't care. I presume as it is you saying it that it is mean. But as I said before bounces off me and sticks to you. This is what my 6 year old niece says to meanspirited people and she is spot on.

I read this report, there is a lot of truth in it. Organic standards are too lax in fairness, especially when you consider how much more expensive organic food is A lot of "natural" pesticides are as dangerous as conventional ones. Poison is poison at the end of the day.

    It means Wind-Up Merchant.

TL;DR means Too long; didn't read.

I think you are a WUM of Woo because rather than googling terms as they arise, you expect us to explain everything to you so you can throw together another flimsy little argument and wind us all up.
