Funnily enough, the 'I will survive' video proved him wrong earlier

He always claimed Gloria Gaynor was on Rollerskates, but it was someone else.
Gloria had a bad back and could hardly stand up.

I will be having words ...

    LMFAO

Good for you Donie. I'd love to see this performed in its entirety....

I suppose knowing the background of the story would be a bonus but the arrangement is lovely to listen to if you have the time and the place to listen to it!....:)

Jesus lads, how did you manage to rack up 35 pages while I was away?

I must have missed an awful lot of good music (or else very bad music :D)

    Anything good on the horizon?

(I'll admit to not reading the 35 pages, sorry!!!)

None of the above would stir me to even look for the remote (except possibly the TOTP) :(

Ah well, I'm sure something good will be along soon!

Friday's blues documentaries were excellent, so was the BB King documentary.

Last night was an interesting (if not amazing) mix of rock n roll, and TOTP.

Ah, next week should be good. The Quo + this thread is a recipe for success!

We won't be getting any of the Dave Lee Travis fronted TOTPs anytime soon ...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26322552
Former Radio 1 DJ Dave Lee Travis is to face a retrial on charges of indecent and sexual assault, the Crown Prosecution Service has said.

Can anyone point me in the direction of any good books on Muddy Waters?

Actually, the Chess Records documentary on BBC 4 this Saturday would be a great place to start (I'd say).

Peter Gabriel is showing up in Brian Pern's next Rock opus. So that was the strategy - find everybody who could sue and invite them on board. Genius worthy of an egg. Next they'll have Bowie advocating Scottish liberation ....what ?.... oh ...(sorry I'll get back on that).

And if you like that, you'll love this.

    Fri 7 Mar, 9pm

Muscle Shoals: The Greatest Recording Studio in the World

Located alongside the Tennessee River, Muscle Shoals in Alabama is the unlikely breeding ground for some of America's most creative and defiant music. Under the spiritual influence of the 'Singing River', as Native Americans called it, the music of Muscle Shoals has helped create some of the most important and resonant songs of all time.

At its heart is Rick Hall, who founded FAME Studios. Overcoming poverty and tragedy, Hall brought black and white together in Alabama's cauldron of racial hostility to create music for the generations. Greg Allman, Bono, Clarence Carter, Mick Jagger, Etta James, Alicia Keys, Keith Richards, Percy Sledge and others bear witness to Muscle Shoals's magnetism, mystery and why it remains influential today

It's very good - a trifle long and with too much Bono - but it's beautifully shot and has a hell of a soundtrack.

Repeat listed for 02:10 Sat 8 Mar 2014.
