    "Shouty Tits bash the Bishop".

I can see the Headline already. I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet they're into roller-derby too. I'm also betting they don't get the lads view of their protests - which amounts to somwhere around "Ohh look, tits.."

Progressives using tactics of intimidation so create an atmosphere of fear. This type of vileness of degree (albeit not type) would be similar of the petty bullying tactics that their historical predecessors used against the one institution that stands for tradition and civilisation, the Church.

Anyone think theres an appetite amongst Irish feminists to stage somthing similar against the hierarchy over here :D?

While i have no breasts myself, i fully support such action.
    Absolutely disgusting.

Feminist group 'Femen' whipped out their breasts and hurled blood soaked knickers at the Archbishop of Madrid. They were protesting the newly proposed abortion laws in spain which will see a more restrictive policy.

I think the heirachy of the catholic church are long overdo a bit of tit anyways. Lol.

Yeah I don't see them doing that in Saudi Arabia where women are actually opressed. Well done, feminists. Fight the the good fight, in a democratic country with a democratically elected government.

I take your point. Altho, do pro-lifers respect the opinions of pro-choicers?

Yes. Don't equate disagreement with disrespect.

I think they're mentalers, but I wouldn't be encouraging them to try that in Saudi. You'd get a very painful death for it, tbh.

Actions like these could be more harmful to the progression of womens rights on various issues.

Do actions like these not demean us all? (male and female)

why didn't they direct their protest at the minister of whatever department is bringing in the new law?

Tradition yeh, don't know about civilisation. The church doesn't have a great track record in that regard. Nothing against people having their religious beliefs, but there's no point in making dubious statements.

"Let's get attention with our tits." Really doing feminism justice there.

I think this group only damages their cause the way they behave instead of furthering it.

It allows normal people to dismiss them as loonies for good reasons. Though the loonies are good for a giggle to be fair.

This is the closest he'll get to a pair of tits. Reactionary and caveman as he is, he probably went to say a few prayers in case he had an erection. No pity for him at all.

The archbishop should have pushed one of them away with both hands on her tits . That would have been a great still frame for the papers.
They prtested in the Spanish parliament last year. Same way. One of the ushers working there had a good grab at them trying to get the women from the chamber.

Agreed they are most likely loonies up for the craic, but I'm feminist and prochoice and I resent the possibility of being tarred with the same brush as this shower.

It's amazing that just because the man is a member of the clergy, some people here think it's ok to throw blood at him.

    Pure bigotry.

I didnt really mean for this to become an abortion thread. I just thought it was hilariously ironic to see a high ranking misogynist figure getting 'abreast' of the issue.

If it was real blood, that is disgusting, ofc. But remember, women die from abortion prohibition, i think thats what the message was about.

Also, pro-lifers do not just 'disagree' with pro-choicers. They actively enforce their opinions on them by force of law and then use every dirty tactic possible to maintain it. Thats called disrespect. Some would call it fascism.

    Pure bigotry.
Well, his bigotry says I should burn in hell, have no civil legal rights at all or even need some medical treatment, all of these while I would be most welcome to the Catholic community.

He and his ilk are behind the backward conservative policies the Spanish government is taking.

So I'll say it again, no pity for him.

Nobody said it justified it,some people obviously don't have a problem with it.Personally I'd consider it disgusting in fairness.

Hang on. Surely it depends on the pro-lifers? Any people I know (including a very close friend) who are pro-life don't do any of the above.

I'm pro-choice but it's not right to assume every person who is anti abortion is a Youth Defence type. I also still think abortion should be only be a very last resort.

As for this behaviour, I'm not a fan of the catholic church or organised religion in general, but throwing blood-soaked pieces of cloth at someone (no matter who) is just being a gobshyte and will only serve to stir up further division and resentment.

Zero cause for this comment. The type which, again, only causes further division and gives ammunition to the "Durrrrr, it's liberal fascism" brigade.

Yea, i understand what you mean, but why cant alot of people who are against abortion just be against abortion and be in the pro-choice category? Because its not just about being against abortion. Its about subjugating everyone with their misplaced moral crusade.

Theres lots of people who are against abortion and who are pro-choice. Because they place woman's rights over the rights of an undeveloped fetus.

These women are only a tiny percentage of people who oppose this new law. I've been to a few protests against it and the vaaaaaaaaaaaast majority of people were protesting peacefully and respectfully. Most Spanish people oppose this law btw, not just those from the left. This is only supported by the small minority on the far-right.

I don't approve of their tactics at all. Total embarrassment to the cause which gives the small number of far-righters ammo against us. The papers are full of it now tarnishing all of us with the same brush (much like you did).

Exactly. They're fcuking idiots tbh and not helping the cause in the slightest.

Well, that depends. If we're to take them at their word that they seek equality, they might help achieve it via getting the Feminist movement ignored?
