It must be amazing to write a song that people love.

Imagine being on stage and hearing your song being sung back to you.

    Me too!

Here's another one of my favourites before I hit the hay....

    The best album ever Harry....

Also "Water of Love".......I love the way the songs just blend into each other.

    A real proper album. :)

Neil had gone a bit overboard with the Elizabeth Arden Foundation....

A lot of hit songs have the same chords.

Here is the proof (well worth a look)...

Most blues and early rock n roll use just three.

    I'm finding this quite difficult.

    Calender Girl. B*llocks.

I remember buying the tape in Golden Discs for 99p because the inlay card was missing :D

    Another classic from that album:

Thanks very much, Mr Sedaka but I would have preferred another hour of Guitar Heroes.

I just noticed we passed 1000 posts! Congratulations everyone. I never thought it would get into double figures.

Heh, I'm pretty sure this is the first show on the Beebrock thread that's got thumbs down all round.

    Frankly, I'd prefer disco night!

    Be strong Grey!

Heh, I just remembered for years I thought Neil Sedaka (or whoever it was that sang Breaking Up Is Hard To Do) was a woman.

This is boring. I remember watching the start of a BBC Four documentary about Herb Alpert a couple of years back. Was going to switch it off when it came on, decided to give it 5 minutes and became engrossed in it.
Neil Sedaka is a one trick pony. He ain't no Herb Alpert......

I was watching The Karen Carpenter story a few days ago. She had a beautiful voice, one of the best Pop singers ever.

That's the thing...loads of the shows on bbc4 are rewarding, even when you don't expect it. This really isn't.

    Solitare? B*llocks!

That's not even emotional. It's like something a kid in third class would write if asked to write about a lonely person.

Signed by Herb Alpert to A&M Records. Six Degrees of Separation ;)

Funny you should say, when this started i was asking myself if Sedaka had anything to do with "We've only just begun" (y'know, from Happy Gilmore ;-) ). That was the carpenters, though, wasn't it?

She did have a remarkable voice.

That's right, he was in the film. It was educational :)
