I'm surprised it took this long in the thread for the standard after hours dig

You have been getting nasty digs and insults at everyone throughout the whole thread Nox. It's a bit late in the day to get sensitive.

Here's the way I see it. River of love, end of the road, Weldinihio and all ye don't give one Fcuk about what me, my family and my neighbours have to put up with for upto 10 days and nights and all the other days and nights besides when there is an event on.

Well My opinion is I don't give a Fcuk about ye or about the 400,000 others not getting to see Garthy Buck$. Mores to the point Garth don't give one fcuk for ye either only for your $$$$$ that he's going to tear out of this country... Don't forget them when ye are on about good for the economy... He's heading off with 30 odd million from this (maybe).

Well I'll do all in my power to ensure that the sh1tbag don't get to wail his misery from the terraces of good old hill 16. But sure not to worry folks ye still have his 8 track to listen to in ur tractors while ye drive the kids around!!!!

You have no power, so good luck with that.

Will it be the end of the road for the obnoxious posts as we watch the river run dry and a case of hard luck all as they cancel the extra dates?

I can see the thunder roll for Garths friends in low places, if tomorrow never comes, that summer, when they have unanswered prayers that just become more than a memory.

I really hope you appreciate what that took out of me :p
    Had to google GB

Your arguement makes zero sense. If its printed in a national paper will it not stand up in court??

But if it gets made public they're screwed, so you aren't making it public? Are you waiting for a payoff?? Thats what it looks like.

Since Garth Brooks made his announcement on the 20th of Janaury the papers had pages of Garth Brooks porn. I hope a journalist digs deep and find whatever sort of an agreement has been there and exposes the sham that this is turning out to be. Something stinks on one side or the other.

Yeah the side that stinks is the GAA and Aiken . They though ah sure we can put on 5 gigs and no one can tell us otherwise . Like I have said if there was no agreement why haven't the venue or promoters came out all guns blazing . The silence from them is showing that they are in the wrong .

Its only a pity Swedish House Mafia have disbanded, I'd love to see the residents reaction to them getting the 3 non-sporting spots next year!! Maybe Tiesto or someone will be available :D:D:D:D

Perhaps they know that it'll go to a judge/committee and they don't want to presume that they can influence it through bluster, like the residents seem to think

Maybe they are in the wrong pushed their luck and the people around the area have finally told them to go fcuk themselves .

The homeowners are considering legal action ... but say if they can't stop the concerts, they'll demand the city or the stadium put up "portaloos" in their neighborhood. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Welly old chap the agreement was read out at the meeting the other night immediately after it being read out Perter McKenn stood up and said "that he wasn't privy to the agreement" and that "time moves on things change"!!!

Immediately after that he was shown the agreement and he didn't speak another word.

The next day Croke Park were ringing local representatives to speak to them on "an important issue"!

Unfortunately we were busy living our lives out working and the like. Croke park were told any more meetings would be in "our lovely community centre" that the so lovingly built for us.

The press has hounded them for a comment and have been told nothing.
Croke Park communications office aren't even answering the phone...

Now if the beat us with our agreement then fair play... But as I keep saying their silence is deafening!!!

You're not exactly au fait with how the court system works then, what with prejudicialmaterial not allowed to be published and all that.

Here's an interesting link for you to freely ignore. Of particular interest would be Section 6, subsection 3. On first glances the RA very much have a prima facie case.

This story has got some legs.

If there are any journalists reading and following this thread then listen up.

If even one bar of one song is interrupted or cancelled by any of this hoo haa, then the Welsh Faction of the Garth Crooks Appreciation Society is going to march from Cwmllynfell to Geneva in protest.

We are not to be trifled with and let me tell you, Myfanwy from Chapel Street has a fierce temper.

We are going all the way to the European Court Of Human Rights to fight against any injustice.

    It is Geneva isn't it?

I'll make a deal, i'll bow out of this thread for the time being, because we are all speculating. I'll be back when the license is granted, and then i'll wave at all of you when i'm walking up from Quinns after a good few beers on my way to Croker on the Monday. I'll prob be there on the Friday too, in case any of you aren't around/are in work on the Monday.

Why would it be only the two extra dates added to Brooks that will be cancelled? Surely all five would be on the chopping block along with a non gaa sporting event happening in September. The three dates that Croker are allowed will be used up for one direction.

Or maybe they wanted to speak to their solicitors.

You seem to be under the impression that anyone here cares one way or another what you do.

There are a lot of people who care if i go along on the Monday night (as it would have to be on for me to go), otherwise there'd be no protests.

That's the misapprehension you have been labouring under, I'm afraid.
No-one cares what you personally do.

What the residents and other people care about is that an agreement was broken.
If more people in this country cared every time an agreement was broken by either banks, developers, politicians....you get the drift..then maybe this country wouldn't be in the state its in.
But as I mentioned before in this thread, me-feinerism is still very much alive and well in good ole Ireland.

that is absolutety disgusting. Putting thousands of people under the one umbrella, many perhaps have never been to croke park for a match or concert, and labelling Garth Brooks fans as scumbags.

Why don't you go to the media and papers and expose them so.

How many times do I have to say it... Why expose our trump card...!!! If it doesn't exist why isn't the country's biggest media machine out slamming us...??? Demanding us to show it???

Simple reason - it will panic the sh1t out of the stadium, the GAA, the promoters and worst of all 400,000 hill billies!!!

Very hard to refund all those tickets hence the "no comment while negotiations are on going". Just to clarify... There are no negotiations.

Surely, Croke park will have portaloos on their grounds. The residents will definately have problems parking if they demand for this.

You are right that is absolutely disgusting having to deal with urine, excrement and vomit from people to ignorant to have any respect for others.

What is the problem and issue in relation to the promotors - Aiken promotions - when the issues from the residents lie squarely with Croke Park.
