Arrived back from doing deliveries for my business at 3.30 to discover some scumbag had ran into the office and grabbed my cashbox and my business partners handbag.
I am now down €500+, I have to get all the locks replaced, she has to cancel all her cards, get the house locks replaced, get a new drivers licence, and have the locks on her car replaced as they have her keys and address.
To top it all off the Gardaí don't know when or if they will get here despite us having the **** on CCTV which they could have used.
    Really feel like giving up!

Look on the bright side OP, you can feign amusement when the inevitable "Found a cashbox" thread appears.

    Every cloud...

If it helps you feel better the money will inevitably be used to buy substances which will shorten said scumbags life.

By coincidence I was reading a thread earlier about a chap who had footage of thieves breaking into his house but he was forced to take it down from a public website because ""the images that are captured on film are personal data"

Man who captured thieves on film forced to remove footage from website

    Bad buzz

Karma'll get them in the end

I don't get that. Surely someone would have to make a complaint to the data commissioner. Then they'd have 'em for the robbery, no?

It doesn't work like that apparently but it should.

Keep making a fuss and contact local media and the like if there's foot dragging going on.

Apologies. I've been without electricity. I'm a day behind the rest of the world.

The footage is held by the management of the industrial estate.
To be honest it is not the financial cost that's eating me up most , its the fact that a woman who has been working since she was 14 is now afraid to be left alone in a business she jointly owns and into which she sank most of her life savings, and all because of some lowlife that probably never worked a day in his life.

I know this is going to sound harsh OP but why are you leaving a cash box containing €500 lying around in an unlocked office so that any any scumbag can run in and grab it. Clearly it's asking for trouble.

Perhaps a review of security arrangements would be in order so that your partner can be reassured.

Really hope they catch the scumbag but I hate when it's made easy for them.

That doesn't sound harsh, it sounds dickish and smartarsed, but not harsh.

I always hope for a bad batch of skag in these circumstances.

Yes I think my business partner, a woman in her late 50's should have fought the bastard for the money:rolleyes:
Get real, some customers pay us in cash, what would you expect her to do?

Maybe have some security arrangements in place where cash is locked away so that scumbags can't just wander in and steal it.

You can roll all the eyes you want but perhaps you might want to consider your practices first.

There's always one sanctimonious git who derives pleasure from giving the "I told you so" lecture!

Well you're posting in AH after someone literally walked into your office and wandered off with a box of money.

Perhaps you should go to ranting and raving if all you want to do is vent.

Yeah, that sucks man. Little fooking toerags.

It's sickening that the bollix will never be pulled up for it.

How is anything I have said sanctimonious? You haven't disputed any of it. You have merely attempted to hurl abuse while refusing to accept any responsibility for you own lack of security awareness.

I sympathise with your situation and certainly derive no pleasure from it. I am merely suggesting that this could be avoided with a little better planning.

Or did you just want to come onto boards and have a good old rant?

Perhaps you should get a grown up to read my OP, I never mentioned anyone wandering in anywhere!

Hey I'm just trying to be helpful. R&R is the place for venting. Jumping down the throats of posters isnt gonna do anything but get the thread locked.

Keep going like your going and I'll have little pity for you too. Just because you've had a shít day doesnt give you the right to be a dick to everyone else.

I going to venture away from the typical AH responses because, we'll, I'm an adult.

OP what business do you have? perhaps it's a business or industry some of us use and we can actually use yours. It might get help you and your business partner back some of the money but also restore her faith in people.

This is somehow the most Irish thread I've ever seen

Is the internet that slow in inner mongolia you're only seeing this thread now ?
