I dunno. Whatever the rights and wrongs, warnings were not issued in a timely fashion. A lot of people were caught in dangerous situations. Warnings were not worded strongly enough , ie in a way that the general public could understand. It's all very well for people on here to understand 'phenomenal' and 'severe', but the general public needs to hear 'stay indoors' and 'roof threatening' . 80/130/170kph are simply numbers. Surprisingly low if that's the highest considering most models were showing hurricane force. Wind is actually steadily high here, gusts likely touching 50 knots at times. So still quite strong.

Think Shannon hit sustained 58 knots.

Valentia seemed to miss the most severe centre of winds.

Was expecting it to be slightly more severe in Dublin, however you could tell it wasn't your typical Atlantic cyclone, very odd howling wind.

At the O2 at about 4:15 it was crazy, branches were literally shredded off a tree as I was sitting on the Luas
