haha i wouldnt be so chuffed as good as you got there if you dont emulate them again they will suspect foul play and disqualify you

Just checked on behalf of someone. Band 1 so he's delighted. It says that your placing within a band has no bearing on stage 2 tests. It's fairly brutal. Over 25000 apps? :(

Got no email or text, just checked publicjobs speculatively and there was a message there.Would advise others to do the same.

Band 1, overall place 3332. Low enough placing but sure a pass is a pass, will tackle the next one when it comes. :)

What's is the next test anyway?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 88 ✭✭fergie199

Had not a clue the results were out, Got home a my phone was buzzing from txts and e.mails.

Checked it. (Info@publicjobs) and my heart sank

Red through the e.mail as slow as anything and when i seen they put us into bands (Band1) for the highest scoring (Band2) Medium scoring & (Band3) lowest scoring.

I straight away thought to myself i'm gonna be in band 2 maybe 3

    Turns out BAND 1!!!

    I placed 846 outta 5000 i really couldn't believe it!

I really am delighted with my results but also feel bad for those of us who did not make it into band 1.

Band 2 i imagine is a reserve for those who do not make it through the nxt stage but with 5000 people passed i find it unlikly that band2 will be called into this campaign any further, my best assumption would be that those of you in Band 2 will have top Priority during the next recruitment.

Those placed in band 3 i wouldnt think that this is the year for you but to keep an ear to the ground and apply the nxt time , You know what to expect now so you will have an advantage over most.

Congratulations to all that got through this stage and best of luck to you in the nxt, i can only hope it wont be as tough

I seriously need to start my situps!

Situps were my worry too. I started off by doing 30 situps every hour. 3 sets with ten situps in every set. After 10 or so days I was doing 60 situps an hour (6 sets with 10 situps in each set)

Then I started doing 3 sets of 15 situps and kept the progression going on and on. Started this in January and now I can blast out 30 in my sleep. only took 6 weeks and tbh I could have pushed myself way harder if I wanted to.

Its so easy building up the strength. I also started running too.

As a bit of fun me and my bird started doing pushups during ad breaks on tv. We both jump down and blast out a few. Its a lot of fun.

That's very close to the cut off does it mean that if 34 people do thier stage 2 tests you get a shot?

To be honest I don't hold out much hope but why bother have band 2 and 3 if not to use them. This is the problem with online test also to easy to cheat for people but by the time they get caught it's to late for everyone else. I think it was really unfair to not let band 2-3 do stage 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 146 ✭✭Andrea345

I'm taking about people in band 2

I don't think you take them until you are called. It's all about band 1 for now.

So I see the cut off point is 12,000. I still don't understand why they didn't have all people take the next stage and cut more numbers from the 12000. I would love to understand the reasoning behind it. I do remember on a thread from some time ago someone got called years later and they were in a low batch so don't lose all hope just forget about it now for the time being.

Well one way you could have cheated on the entire test was for yourself to register an account with PAS using another persons PPS number and downloaded a screen recorder for your computer it would have captured the entire test for viewing later so you would know the questions and answers you could have then used your own PAS account and completed the test.

That same test was used before for the emergency controller.

Anyway best of luck to all ! When is the next test?
