Fiona Bruce was looking well earlier.

For a woman of her age she looks fantastic. She's pushing fifty

The OP is right. The BBC news has badly declined. They make TV3 look good. But it's fair to say they're not alone. A lot TV journalism has gone downhill in terms of it's depth. If you ask me they're living off their reputation. You get more depth on After Hours for heaven's sake and more truth!

A while ago I was abroad and the only English speaking channel on TV was the BBC world news. It was awful. I ended up watching the foreign language channels.

The BBC News channel that we get is good, BBC World however is the television equivalent of an amalgam of every rubbishy magazine dumped in the waiting room of a dentist's surgery.

That she is. Also, having the one-two knockout duo of Susanna Reid and Carol Kirkwood on Breakfast is worthy of mentions in dispatches.

Go on Carol, tell us again about rain "pooshing" it's way north again. Push it real good :D

its further left than ryan giggs.....the interviews are utterly biased and the 10 oclock news interviews are pitiful....additonally they edit the hell out of everything and tony robinson rewrites the political agenda every night. nothing is really in depth and certain sections of society are never investigated. the endless cover ups too. we can only imagine the corruption the back scratching that goes on behind closed doors

That wouldn't be hard as Giggs hasn't played left wing for years. Every news channel has an agenda, some more than others. I would rather the BBC or Channel 4 news than Sky News.

I don't know that every news channel has an agenda. Least of all BBC.

It is useless. There's never even a bit of news about our village on it. Biddy Reilly passed there yesterday, not a word did they give the story.

The BBC are so, like, biased. I am going to stick to obscure blogs for my accurate news.

All the radio stations are on TV now as well, Radio 4 was mentioned earlier and there is also the World Service. TV news was probably more like the radio version years ago, because of the technology then.

Now you are liable to see a lot of skype and camera phone reportage, like footage of foolish people walking too close to the ocean during a storm. And if there is film of some poor unfortunate falling to his/her death in a parachute accident or some spectacular film of a train hitting a lorry that will be shown over and over. Radio news is different, obviously because it is not visual.

Radio 4 and the World Service are two top notch talk radio stations and the world service is about as unbiased as it gets. Their radio documentaries are good too.
