Whopper of a toothache here. I'm off to the bed to see if I can get rid of it.

Only thing I really watch now is BBC4's euro-crime on a sat. night. How sad is that!

I hear the sound of tiny drills in your future.

Rotten dose, had an infected nerve one time, never had pain like it. They have to remove the offending tooth and I was never as happy as the day it got hauled out.

Great tip from dentist last time I was in trouble..

Get yourself a wee bottle of Clove Oil from one of the health shops... Get it in on the tooth, on a cotton bud or similar, only takes a minute to work...
For tonight if ye have cloves in the house get one and bite down on it near the sore tooth..

This is what was used as an anesthetic in dentistry until modern stuff..
    Works a treat...

Ah don't I hate the dentist. Had to get my front tooth fixed up two year ago after it got knocked out with a hurl. Worst week ever

Last time I was in the tooth wouldnt budge when extacting it.. Had to slice the gum down, drill and cut the jaw bone, then the ****er came out !! Think I was an hour and a half in chair, had to have second round of injections to keep it knumb.. :(

Got an abscess on a front upper incisor about 5 years ago. Didn't get bad till Saturday evening. Monday was a bank holiday. Tuesday morning I started ringing dentists. They are an independent bunch, all said "make an appointment, booked up today. Told the last fellow I tried that I would take it out myself with a vise-grips so. "Come in at once" he says. Fierce relief. Strange thing was, it frigged up my sleep pattern for about 3 years, Insomnia like you wouldn't believe.

I broke my 2 front teeth with a slap of the postdriver and broke 2 small bones between my top lip and nose, was fine for 2 weeks and then was hit with wicked pains, so got root canal done on 1 at €900! Good thing it only had to be done to 1!

No, a lot of sukler guys prefer to calve down at 3 years.
was thinking about this last night, if you keep and feed her for 3 years before she gives you anything back, i can she why suckler farmers dont make money

Trying this here rather than main forum - maybe i should move?

Neighbour telling me his wife wants to try for job as a account recorder for I.F.A.C. that advertised in local paper. She wondering what it like, hours and probably more important what pay like. Neither of us get them to do accounts so don't know who to ask. So i said id ask them that know everything.
    She would appreciate any help.

That's it exactly. Our BTAP advisor has access to everyone's reports in ICBF and he was even able to show where some lads over the last 10 years had some heifers that didn't calve down till close to 4 years.

"she was a lovely heifer so I gave her another chance when she repeated 8 times"

It's only reducing the fertility of your herd doing this!

right so if she calves down at 3, she will be around 4 before her calf is sold, will probably if your lucky have a calf a year for maybe 5 years, out of interest how much would those heifers that onyerbikepat had up yesterday cost? I admit they are nice .

I alway calf down suckler heifers at 2 years here. It's not just the benefit of an early calf but i find if I let them go too far before bulling, they have put on too much condition and wont go in calf for me.

Scanned last night - all cows in calf that are supposed to be and weinling heifers that we are selling are not. It's good!

Scanned the sheep as well and only 1 ewe not in lamb. Bought 10 ewe lambs in October and had them on reseeded ground and let the Ram out with them in early December. Every one of them were scanned with twins - that will take a bit of minding!
