That pilot didn't sound too happy at not getting runway 16.

Btw, how quick can they change runway direction.

Would have been great if I had time to listen tonight :(
I do believe the ATR pilot has just schooled the Ryanair and Aer Lingus jets. He got down.

It's not the first time this has happened..

    ATTN Mods or thread owner:

I used to follow this and the LiveATC thread until they were hijacked by excessive and very excitable running commentaries by those all watching and listening to the same events. This hijacking also involves multiple postings of the same occurence within seconds of each posting.

These commentaries have considerably watered down all valid comments, suggestions, tricks, shortcuts, MLAT development and observations that were always of use and most welcome.

Would it be possible to set up a type of "Live Commentary" thread as there is a need for it. This is my tuppence contribution FWIW, as it's a pity that one has to wade through pages of postings to find postings not about windy landings and go arounds.

I'll also be posting this in the LiveATC thread.

    Cheers

Why not start a thread that caters for what you want ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 659 ✭✭✭Razor44

is that not what the live atc thread is for? or the EIDW feed thread...seeing as most people com about weather events in dublin, dunno how Mech1 feels about that though.

It's a case of which came first the chicken or the egg! No reason why a new thread to cater for FR24 events cannot be started rather than change this thread which I believe was set up to discuss the technical aspects and developments of FR24.

A quick thought. How do "organic spotters" (ie those that use FR24 and listen on their scanner to actually go out and "spot" aircraft arriving and departing) feel about this new generation of computer spotters? One of which on this thread isn't even on the island?

I'm not knocking anyone on here, for many years I watched aircraft arriving and departing out of SNN. The posting of events here is a bit of entertainment and to be honest I often have a read after an eventful day in work to see if you guys have discussed any flight I've been on:)
