I didn't consider it "cheating". As I said, it was just another negotiation tool. But yeah, it's specifically called out in the rules as being something that could see accounts suspended if caught.

    http://www.soccermanager.com/code-of-conduct.php

    Point 3b.

So I'll throw my hands up there. It is against the rules, it is defined as cheating .

    Hands up here too.

I had a deal agreed and then added a second player to a transfer in another world(instead of the cash origionally agreed) (I wasnt aware it was in the CoC) but I did conduct a transfer against the rules.

I will not entertain / seek any further deals in this fashion.

However, if someone here feels strongly enough about that transfer...

Feel free to report to SM. I'll face the concequences.

If I loose my account / teams then so be it.

In a way i admire the creativity of the lads who used it.

That said it gives a massive advantage to those who avail of it. Say we know each other outside of the game and i offer you a few pints in exchange for Isco/Bale or whoever is that just another negotiating tool?

I joined this league knowing full well i can't compete financially with the bigger clubs but say i save up my pennies to bid for a player and my bid is rejected for a rivals because the selling manager is getting a star player in another league.

Even if it wasn't against the code of conduct it is certainly unfair. I can understand lads arguing they found a loop hole and weren't breaking any rules but to say it isn't cheating? Honestly can't understand that attitude.

Now, i have no intention of refusing to do deals with managers and falling out with people over this. It is after all only a game but antics like this will kill the league.

I hope the undertaking not to do a transfer in this vein helps but ya never know, there are 70odd active managers in our league...

Listen, there's two levels for me here.

One, I do feel a tad burned a bit, and I know this point will come across as being bitter. But twice in the last 10 days, you had told me I was "top of the line" for when Salah went on sale and you'd make sure I'd get a bid in. So I kind of feel I was strung along a bit there. But that's really petty, I know. But cards on the table, I'll be honest about it.

The other is Salah was one of your best players, and I'd personally believe that once you decided to quit, the last thing you should have been doing was offer players to people. While it was "fair" to you and others, I'd argue once you decided to quit, it wasn't your decision to make then. Salah, at Chelsea, is a nailed on 90 imo, and would have been the biggest bargaining chip any new manager had coming in. A far bigger chip to negotiate with than the 17m you've left him with.

If the intentions were to leave the club in the best shape possible as well and you were dead set on selling players, why not announce he was for sale and get the best deal possible? Yeah, GT's was good but I know I could have bettered it, and I'd imagine a lot of managers would have taken a crack at bettering it as well. But even that would have been unfair, since it leaves the next manager without one of his best players imo.

I do think had monitoring been turned on, these are the type of deals that would have been reversed pretty quick; not because of "jealousy", but because it's unfair to start selling players right before you leave. AFAIK, "dodgy deals" do include ones done right before a player quits. As I said last night, this type of problem was put forward when discussing turning monitoring off and was shot down, and low and behold, here we are/

If it makes you feel any better you benefited from something similar;)

That all depends on who you are willing to sell me????;)

Selling your best/promising players when you quit the game is a díck move, try to justify it all you want but it is what it is.

It should have been left to the next manager in to decide what he wanted to do with the players, and I'm taking a hunch but I think he would have kept hold of them.

Anyway what's done is done but leave out the bullshít justifications
