The following other conditions are also associated with mouth breathing: cheilitis glandularis, Down syndrome, anterior open bite, tongue thrusting habit, cerebal palsy, Sleep apnea, Snoring.

    source; wiki
Probably cause and effect are mixed up there

I breathe through my nose, always. My teeth feel cold and my tongue gets dry when I breathe through my mouth.

The other half breathes through his mouth. He also stops breathing for long periods of time when he's asleep.

Then I take the pillow off his face.

Nose while awake, mouth while asleep for some reason. Have been told that I am not at my prettiest while asleep. :(

For some reason, if you believe in anything right of centre, with regards to your political beliefs, you breath through your mouth also.

    Apparently.

I'm a mouth breather! Even though breathing through the nose is supposed to be the correct and natural way.
I have a lot of issues with my nose, and its constantly inflamed and blocked most of the year so I find it really hard to get enough air in through my nose!

    HowTo:Breathe

    Step 1: Detecting Your Organs

First of all, you should know where all your organs are. If you are a human, your lungs should be behind your ribcage and your diaphragm should be at the bottom of your ribcage. Your nose should be located above your mouth. If you have trouble locating these components, try consulting an expert.

Please make sure that your central nervous system is properly connected to your diaphragm muscle and that your brain is set up properly. If you do not know how to check this connection, please consult your owner's manual. If your owner's manual is lost, missing or temporarily misplaced, dial the help hotline. The help hotline was affixed to your umbilical cord at birth, much like the warning stickers on cords of household appliances.

Tip Do not give up yet!

After you succeed in detecting the necessary organs and ensuring their proper connection, you will be ready to proceed to the next step.

I've been monitoring this all day and ...

I STILL DONT KNOW IF IM A MOUTH BREATHER OR NOT!!

I think I breath through my nose but when I try to analyze it I PANIC! And breath through my mouth.

This thread will be the death of me.

You're supposed to breathe through your nose - it has tiny hairs to filter dirt out of the air before it hits your lungs. I've also read something about how breathing through the nose gives the lungs more time to extract oxygen from the air and makes hyperventilation less likely (I can't say for definite if that's true, mind, just something I read a while ago). Also, it's less likely to make you look dozy :P

I generally breathe through my nose, except when I get out of breath during exercise for some reason...

I am a mouth breather - have been for as long as I can remember. If I have to breathe through my nose say during Pilates etc it takes me a while to get a decent breath in and even then I have to compensate by breathing through my mouth.

I had to tell my dentist as I was nearly choking one time when she was doing a deep clean of my teeth and my mouth was full of water etc. The dentist told me it is important to mention it due to this etc and she also said that mouth breathers have more issues with receeding gums etc due to the mouth pretty much always being open.

    Just my tuppence :)
