    You might have autobouquets scheduled to run every night. Open up the autobouquet plugin, press menu and make sure 'Scheduled update scan' is set to no

    Rat's Bouquets and Picons. You don't have to register for the site. You can get them from the download section at the top right of that page. The channel lists for Alien 2 are in rats.zip. If you want a plugin that downloads them and sets them up on your box for you then install the plugin: rats_bouquets_latest.ipk "Rat" is from the UK and his channel lists don't include the Irish channels broadcast on Satellite.

    To install the ipk here's what I did:

    Used 7-Zip to unpack it until I got the /usr directory then just dragged and dropped that into the root ( / ) of the enigma2 installation in FileZilla. Then reboot and run its entry in the Plugin Menu.

    "Rat" is from the UK and his channel lists don't include the Irish channels broadcast on Satellite.

    All of the Irish channels are in the Irish variations bouquet.;)

    What I mean is when I connect and browse to that location, there is already a folder there called HDMICEC but the plugin isnt in my plugins list (either downloaded & running or in the list of available plugins)

    But I'll download that and overwrite the folder and see how I get on. Ta

    You could have your tuner configuration incorrectly set up ,that usually causes lag.
    There is no lag on Hyperion 3 (except Saorview) if correctly configured .

    Have you the remote control file eps settings at 30 or 45 ?
    By default Hyperion has the eps settings in the lircd.conf fileset as 30.
    This is too low and means the remote is sluggish and has a poor range.

    Have plugin in plugin list now, is activated but tv won't change channel using tv remote (I have that option turned on also) Was working fine on champions arp image, changed there to Hyperion v3 (due to the saorview channel tuning issue)
    Anything I should be l looking at?

    just delete oscam.dvbai file and oscam should clear had a similar trouble setting mine up took me 3 days of searching net and found that deleteing this file all is well then dont know why thats not stated in tutorials that u find

    just an update i deleted autobouquets and that done the trick thanks just wondering can i delete other sats installed in this image cheers

    Tuner A should be set as DVB-T and Tuner B and C set as 28e satellite
    Tuner B and C are satellite tuners ,they cannot be configured for DVB-T

    Press Menu-Setup-Service Searching-Tuner Configuration

    Its a failing of the receiver that it becomes very unresponsive if the tuners are configured incorrectly or if you select a channel with no signal.
    Its impossible to configure the box without a live feed ,its too sluggish.
    I never had this issue with any other receiver before .

    i just reloaded arp image, and scanned all channels, all working, except $

    my tuner config, is A and B are satelite and C is terrestial, i have T2 receiver if that makes a difference?

    still struggling with oscam.server file, i replaced the one in var/keys, maybe i should have just edited??

    Can anyone point me to a step by step guide for backing up my setup, using TheTechGuy's January image on a GM spark triplex.

    I've tried booting into spark but the plugin only has an upgrade option, no Backup option.

    If it's my image, then all you need to do is just edit the sample reader which I included

    If you need to make a Backup, then you need a different version of the Spark plugin. I have included it in a separate folder in the link for downloading the image

    Trying to gen up atm on all these various sat boxes before I make my final decision to get my first one.

    Am I right in saying the Amiko Alien 2 would allow me to set up Sparks and E2 and then I can switch at will between them without even rebooting?

    The reason I ask is because it would be a perfect solution for me if I could set one up for Mrs. iPhone to use and I could switch over to the other one to muck about with and test images etc and do a bit of hobbyist tinkering without getting it in the neck for fecking up her setup :eek:

    If this is possible, which would be the most Mrs. friendly option - Sparks or E2 for someone moving from a sky+ box to the linux box for the first time?

    As mentioned you need to reboot to switch between Spark and Enigma2. However you can do a backup of E2 from Spark to save your current "messing" experimenting and resume at a later stage. You can even have multiple backups to play with. :D

    If you look around here, many of the posts on here are after 23:00 - after the better half has gone to bed !!!

    E2 is now quite stable and the SkyHD Mod skin gets you closer to a Sky looker.

    Switching images takes about 10 mins tops. You have the benefit of access to images like mine which has 95% of everything you could possibly want already setup for you.

    I brought my box just before the London 2012 Olympics. It was only a year ago when E2 images then first appeared and thankfully so because Spark was sh1te back then.

    So it's a great box now. It can be standalone, can stream, can work with XBMC and can be connected to a Nas and share a connected Usb drive out to Windows PC's

    And then finally, it does OSCam

    My wife is very happy with E2 on the Triplex/Alien 2 and that is the ultimate test.

    I dont understand people using the Sky skin ,its bloody awful .
    Skins like PLI-HD are far superior to it in functionality and looks.

    The wife loved her Sky box years ago but she wouldnt go back to it ,E2 receivers are so much better.

    So does the dual boot mean you select either sparks or E2 at boot?

    @ ChampionC I will definitely check out your image if I do finally settle on the Alien, saw a lot of good feedback on posts about it earlier in this thread, fair dues to ya for taking the time to create it.

    Now, when would be best time to sow (into it) and get things started, hope I can convince her indoors before Spring :D

    If you still have a Sky subscription, and if your card hasn't been paired to your Sky box, you could switch it over to this box and keep going.

    Take the plunge mate. I can understand people getting fed up with this box during the last 12 months but I doubt if anyone has considered parting with them since the HD Judder was fixed and the latest OpenAR-P and Hyperion v3 images were released - which both appear to be rock solid

    Folks, I have a Spark Triplex and a Spark Reloaded.
    Thinking about replacing the Spark Reloaded (or at least moving it to another room)

    Do people have a preference for the GM Spark Triplex Box over the Amiko Alien 2, or do they deliver identical functionality?
    Also, could anyone recommend a source for the box, preferably in Ireland or UK online retailer?

    Anyone have this working on Hyperion? It's a deal breaker for me as my young lad just pulls the box out from where it's kept when the door on press is open!! :)
    I'll put up with the saorview issue and go back to champs arp image if can't get it working.

    Hi lads, a very, very basic question. I should know the answer after running E2 for a year but... anyway here it goes.

    I'm running Champion's AR-P image of Enigma2 on an Alien Amiko2. Great image. Does pretty much everything I need (apart from that problem I reported on playing mp4 files). Anyway, the problem I have is with AutoTimer. I never really used the plug in, but the image I flashed has timers set to record Coronation Street. At first I didn't know the box was recording it, until after a week I noticed loads of Corrie episodes on the hard drive. "Lol" I thought, "the box likes its soaps". Anyway, I've been trying to remove that timer, but it keeps re-appearing. I've tried going to Timers, then remove every single timer for Corrie, but then it appears again the following day. I've also tried using the EPG (i.e. the CoolTVGuide) and removing Corrie from there, but again, the timers appear again after a day. I tried deleting them, editing them, all to no avail.

    How can I delete them and keeping them from reappearing? I couldn't find a way of accessing the AutoTimers UI (if it has one?) We don't watch Corrie at home... Thanks a lot in advance.

    Nop. It's not listed in the plugins menu. I might have messed up with that ...
