im considering a rd trip to nenagh, about 90 min away, anyone know if there are any iPods left?

save yourself a trip there was none left yesterday evening at 6.10pm - I went there as soon as I saw ml123's post. I asked were they getting any more in and was told no. (But they didn't have them in stock last week when I asked so I'd take that with a pinch of salt....)

I rang and there were 9 in the system, just landed and nothing here :(

Has anyone tried the knives on the current promotion? Are they a a Bargain? Look a fair bit over priced at RRP.

    professional-kitchenware.jpg

Well they're not forged and the alloy is a bit soft but ok for the price if you're only getting one or two and don't mind shapening them from time to time, don'thave to worry about handles in the dishwasher. If you're getting a full set and block you'd probably do better on adverts / ebay / amazon.

Few Breville kettles in Ballybrack for 9.30 and 9.15 reduced from 35, checked reviews on Amazon and decided not to buy , most reviews are really really bad (electric shocks, leaks, burned wall sockets, turning themselves on at night ... scary stuff )

Thanks for giving the reviews, I need a new kettle and was heading there after lunch anyway, I would have grabbed one at that price, but I'll skip it after that!

Seem to be popular as a lot of empty racks in a few stores around.

Stillorgan were selling Wall Mounts for "Large" (43" upwards) TV's at €1 each last night.

The Tesco Value Kettle one works ok . Cheap as chips as well ..Probably better than the Breville. We got the cheap Breville toaster in Tesco. Junk. Takes ages as well. Breville low end stuff is just terrible.

I replaced no end of brand name kettles one after the other (often with a brand name kettle only lasting a few weeks) for one reason or another .e.g leaking or element overheated etc
Then I said to myself feck it I may as well get a sub 9 euro kettle from Tesco and if it breaks Ill have money saved from turning down the brand kettle anyway. Its working hard and looks good 2 years later.

Went on a Southside meander today and found different prices in 3 different
Tesco for the same items, DVD called Prime something in Dundrum €2, Nutgrove €1,
    Stillorgan 30c!

Jackie Collins Prime Connections was €3 in Ballybrack!
    There's some price differences.

Things with the yellow sticker and barcodes are store specific, everything else scans at the same price in all sites, though alot of stuff has a few different barcodes.

Both price checkers in Ardkeen are broken. (pulled of the wall by kids)

I saw returns in another Tesco put back in the bargain basket without being price checked, the price has changed since they were bought originally.

The closer it gets to the end of the month the more bargains are being returned!

Service people will tell you - buy a plastic kettle the metal ones expand and contract like crazy and all leak eventually.

Still I would use metal ones to avoid this:

To the person who removed the 8GB USB Drive in Ballybrack from the wrapping, I wish you well in the future.
Hardly worth going to court for €1.50 though .

Yeah that 120% bit was bizarre, I assume it's a typo of 20%? and don't worry, I wasn't having a go - though my phrasing was poor - I just happened to read that article a couple of days ago and thought it was more than fitting.

    http://gadgets.ndtv.com/laptops/news/seagate-hard-drives-are-the-least-reliable-says-backblaze-474340
The particular model that BackBlaze calculated to have such an unbelievable failure rate was the Seagate Barracuda Green (ST1500DL003). The figure exceeds 100 percent because not only did these drives fail, but the ones they were replaced with under warranty did too.

To your average ocd clepto taking this would be like ten hits of heroin. ;)

Was in Tesco Carlow earlier and picked up the following:

Wreck it Ralph Blu Ray - €2
Game of Thrones Season 2 Blu Ray-€2
Kirby Epic Yarn Wii Game -€2
    Babyliss proNano hair straightener-€2.37
    New Oz movie Blu Ray-€2

They put out 1 breville toaster and kettle but wasn't quick enough to grab 'em.

Any bargains in Wexford or Gorey, last time I was in Wexford it was like the contents of a bad stall at a market had been tipped into baskets on the shop floor.

"The Seagate Barracuda Green 1.5TB drive, though, has not been doing well. We got them from Seagate as warranty replacements for the older drives, and these new drives are dropping like flies. Their average age shows 0.8 years, but since these are warranty replacements, we believe that they are refurbished drives that were returned by other customers and erased, so they already had some usage when we got them."

Also they previously said that 'green' drives just aren't suitable for backblaze.

"These drives are designed to be energy-efficient, and spin down aggressively when not in use. In the Backblaze environment, they spin down frequently, and then spin right back up. We think that this causes a lot of wear on the drive."

So they, refurbished drives that are totally unsuitable for the task they've given them.

Again not defending seagate they're ****e but the figures are totally out of context.
