If I had extra money to spend there are a lt of other things i spend on. If you use Fibre cement you ideally need to increase extra timber sizes. I would galvanize RSJ's and make tank bigger. And if I still had money I would not spend it of fibre cement sheets.

Galvinise RSJs to protect from slurry gasses I presume? Is this costly? effective? necessary?

I have seen a few sheds build 20-30 years The biggest issues generally are RSJ/steel corroding. I imagine alot of these were not shotblasted and painted however in the main they were build by reputable shed builders. These RSJ's are going to be effected by cattle dung and urine and also moistire from cattle swetting/breathing. If you had to resheet a shed in 30 years time it would not be a big deal even replaccing slats is not the end of the world. RSJ's are important to the structural integerty of the shed and replacing would be expensive and a large project.

As well as that fibre cement sheeding is not around a long time. While it will not rust we do not know what way water and frost will damage it over the longterm. From what I can see most steel sheeting will have a life of 30+ years.

on a four bay shed with lie back it adds aboit 1.5K I think that would for about 15 rsj's and other metal

Would anyone hazard a guess at what it would cost to build a 2 bay slatted shed with overhang canopy. No lie back, just the basic 15ft 9in x 14ft pens.
I know its hard to guess but anywhere near a price would be good starting point for me.
Or if anyone has any other suggestions of a different type of shed that might suit a 2 bay slatted tank.
    Thanks

For what it costs I would consider a lie back as it only costs the price of 3 rsj's anda bit of sheeding. I would also go as bib as possible with pens. again a 16'6'' tank as opposed to 12'tank inc slats will only cost 300ish extra.

    Tank
digging out presuming no stone inc backfilling 1K euro
    Concrete 3.2K
    Steel 1K
    Labour 2K
    Slats 2K

    Shed 5K (errected a guess)

Walls and steel work in shed 2K

    Electrical 1K
    water 350 euro.

Miscellanous (thing I forgot about, Continguincy fund stone yard work 2k)

    Total 19.5K

Building a small shed is way more expensive/sq metre than building one twice the size also it depend on how much you can do yourself. For instance Clonmacnoise has a thread going about building a cheap shed which is doable for a small two bay cattle shed
