Is that whole shaving thing only unpopular because it's in porn? I find the reaction against what's portrayed in porn as really weird

Not the reason I don't like it personally. I just don't want to and my boyfriend likes hair anyway. Not against the idea of anyone else doing it either.

A handful is nice, a mouthful will do.
I do too that just had a ring to it. I'm very turned on by smaller boobs.

There is a lot to be said for the petite frame with smaller boobs! Sometimes i see petite women with big racks and it looks out of place!

    @SeenItAll

Meh , I shave. I leave the upper bit trimmed. Personally, I like the sensation of a more, er, EDIT: TMI

Again, who cares if someone is expecting you to do something. It's your own choice on whether or not to do it.
Perhaps you'd have a different opinion if it were men who were generally expected to be BSC'd, because of what the women see and get turned on in porn.

Actually, it doesn't turn me on in porn. I don't really watch porn anymore. I like storyline and exploration of sexuality, not just two people in a bed.

Hmmm, I wouldn't rule out that some women would be turn on by being shave. There's a certain amount of kinkeness involved and the close sensation of the close point of the shave could be arousing. Again, could be. Each to their own and another woman could find it awful and itchy.

On the last point of expectation, isn't that like saying romance novels make woman into hair? There's a million and one reasons a woman would be into a hairy man and each are unique to her as an individual.

I've realised that I've started ranting a little. So, I'd like to add that I generally don't care about pubic hair. Sure, I have my preference. But as long as it isn't smelly or tastes bad, then I'm grand.

No, this is turning into a gender debate. And I just want to get back into discussing sexuality. :)

True, but then again, if you are still active, or, er, hopeful of sexual activity I suppose, you want to meet the general expectations that are out there, even if only approximately. Which is why a lot of old people don't bother trimming their nose hair, and why you can often see leg hair on older women, and overgrown eyebrows going in all directions on older men, and much less of all these with younger people.

The oldsters don't have the incentive to care about these things. Lucky sods.

Wow that is a hair of a discussion here!

Each to their own I say.
However, I'd be quite interested in knowing your opinion on men shaving their armpits! (Most of my mates at home do it so I'm fairly used to it. It doesn't seem to be 'the thing' here though. Which I've gotten used to as well.)

So: Gentlemen, do you/would you shave it?
Ladies, what are you thoughts on that topic? Do you give a damn?

Nope, used to do it once, not any more, and girls with underarm hair? *shudders* :(

Hairy legs on a woman is an awful thing.

I trim my armpits and nether regions for hygienic reasons, I think a big bush on a bloke (or a woman) just looks very 1972...and actually a little untidy..especially after a night of debauchery!
Oh and picking 3 inch hairs from your teeth is a bit of a mood killer imo!

I also think that turns you on/off changes with the person.
I would always have said that body freckles dont do anything for me, even a bit of a turn off. My gf has a freckly back and I find it lovely now :o

Similarly, I'm a hairy bugger (well chestwise anyway) and she would have preferred smooth in the past, now she really likes playing with my hairy chest, which is handy!

Full on hairy yeah, but feeling a little stubble as you rub your partners legs on the couch has never been an issue for me, I dont expect to be going out with someone who is preened 24/7

I found untrimmed armpits on young men a bit strange when I moved over but I got used to it and don't mind it unless they look like a giant dark bush. I've seen a lad like that once wearing a vest and although he was shaped nicely and had a handsome face it put me off completely. I'd say the same goes for women. (I wouldn't wear short sleeves unless I was shaved)

Preferences can change as you said. I used to shrug at the thought of a - as you put it - a hairy bugger. I have always preferred smooth, maybe because I'm very soft skinned and don't have that much body hair myself. He had a hairy chest and I didn't mind because I liked him that much it wasn't an issue.
Now that was only a chest I'm not sure if I could cope with the bear type.
Although I used to hate when men weren't clean shaven. These days I find stubble extremely sexy and I can even cope with a beard (short trimmed).
Guess that's what growing up (= getting old) feels like

Yeah, I just do my armpits as I said, mainly because long hair will be stinkier after sports etc and also I dont really want a ponytail poking out of my tshirts!

My gf was the same, preferred clean shaven face, now she is a bit smitten with my beard (which Im currently rocking because of her!)
I used to just have stubble, but it was having the sandpaper effect!

Turn off for me is taking yourself too seriously & not being up for a bit of fun, lack of sense of humour and lack of intelligence.

Turn ons are success, class, humour and intelligence, body wise I much rather athletic, but would rather a too much over a too little, skinny minny need not apply.

I'm a bum man too, so a nice pert bum and I'm sold!;)

Yep, that works for me too. He can look like Adonis but if he carries any of those above mentioned traits I would rather remain alone forever! :pac:

I shave down below every now and then, very carefully I might add, never under the pits though.
Btw,I don't know about Ireland but here in Britain the new fad with many young girls is letting hair grow under their pits and then dying it,like purple, red, green, pink etc etc.

THIS! Yes. Nothing wrong with a girl who is willing to 'dabble' once in a while. Amazing times can be had with an S.O and special occasions.

Not against the idea of no marriage.

Personally, I don't get the standard, default expectation that some....how do I put this....'traditional' girls have about life.

Essentially, it seems to boil down to - Meet Mr Right, marry him(super extravagant wedding with 5k engagement/wedding rings and lavish reception and honeymoon), build a big perfect house with the bank's money, get pregnant, have 2.4 perfect kids. Husband goes to work, wifey takes the kids to school and joins the parents council, bakes cupcakes and whatnot....

Voila, happy ever after for the next six ****ing decades or whatnot. Personally, the idea terrifies the crap outta me. Talk about being suffocated and backed into a corner by children and debt....*shudder* End rant.

That's a fairly oldschool way of looking at things id say, a lot of the women i know have great jobs i cant see them giving up and love travelling etc. I can't see too many looking to settle into the quiet life with the kids any time soon. Of course you will always get the traditionalists who will fall in to that life but id say there are far less then there used to be!

And if they are happy and content, then I wish them the very best. But if a girl is expecting me to fall into that trap, she won't see me for dust. Gone, i'd be! GONE.

I've seen too many marriages fail..maybe that's warping my opinions.

A certain someone in my immediate family did it recently when they re-married. Very expensive wedding, amazing honeymoon, all the bells and whistles. Came back to Ireland after, got talked into putting their name on a 400k mortgage (the kitchen had a 30,000 euro marble floor, on her orders of course!) and they barely lasted two years. Now divorced. No idea what state the finances are in. I can't help but see it as very myopic of them to just EXPECT to be together forever. WTF??

I thought older was supposed to be wiser? Not so, it seems.

Well I suppose I like to listen to music and go to gigs/festivals so I would generally be attracted to people who do the same, that's all!
