Thanks for the reply yes i just realise that now So you cant record 2 programmes at the same time on the card trick on other channels All do the recordings ok though. But box Just crashed but i just rebooted I now now thanks again

You can record 2 trick channels together if you have a UTV card.

    Making a statement.
The question posed was why the box was freezing while recording c4 HD & channel 5.
They're both channels added using the card trick & I was just pointing out that I thought you can only record one of these & not two together.

Yea it won't work on the "blue button" but recording 2 trick channels will work if you're lucky enough to get a UTV card.

Does the UTV card-trick resolve the 'jump to 998' issue?

It does because the "trick channels" are in the epg instead of being in blue button limbo. The "full" epg with the UTV card won't work if you have the HD pack but it works fine without it.

Just wondering, I have the NI Sky sub card and a NI FTA Sky card. The NI sub card gets RTE fine on my HD box, but the FTA card which is in an old Pace Sky digibox in the kitchen doesn't.

Is it possible to use the blue button "card trick" to get RTE on the older box?

    Thanks

RTE is encrypted, it's impossible to get without a sub.

    Ok. Thanks for the reply.

I thought it was FTA like many of the Sky channels (Gold, Dave etc) but needed an active sub to receive. My mistake.

    Thanks.

    Gold & Dave aren't FTA.

Grrr... Spent ages last night setting up the Blue Button Card Trick... worked perfectly

I forgot to turn off auto standby on the box!! All gone

Anyway; I've an NI card on the way which I hope will work so I'll wait till then to try again

One Question ... When adding the other channels - is this the list i need to add allowing for regions.
    UTV HD /ITV+1
    ITV2 / ITV2+1
    ITV3 / ITV3+1
    ITV4 / ITV4+1
    CITV
    Channel 5 / Channel 5+1
    5* / 5*+1
    5USA /5USA+1
    BBC 1 & 2 NI

    Where I disable auto standby??

Did the favourites trick. Channel 5 won't appear.

Can get 5+1, all the ITVs and BBCs but no regular Channel 5. Have tuned 6 variations of it in other channels and added it to favourites but no joy. Bummer ! Any ideas ?????

Services, Sky+Setup, The last option is for standby mode. For your CH5 problems go to the kingofsat site to get the frequencies for CH5 and save all variants. I have 5 versions in my other channels.

Save you the hassle of looking, it's 10.964 H 22.0. Five variants will pop up, save all of them and you're sorted.

That's what mine is set to anyway.

I've got it set now. Thanks folks.

If I manually put the box on standby will I lose the blue button channels ? Or will I have to leave the box "on" permanently ??

No, as long as it isn't plugged out or go into Eco Standby it will retain the settings.

The odd morning you will find the channels gone but it will turn out Sky have updated the software and the box has rebooted and lost the settings.

BTW my Standby is set to Active and it works fine.

My standby was set to Eco so that was probably it !!

Good to know. Thanks again everyone for the tips.

My next attempt will be be UTV ftv card to get the full trick in motion ! Haha

Remember that a Channel Islands card will also work for the full trick but they're even rarer than UTV ones!

anyone know where I would get the codes for my uk card? It's shows BBC 1 East on channel 101 when I put it in the box. Just looking to add ITV HD and Channel 4 HD.

Pity you can't get BBC 3/4 HD.

    Thanks

Channel 4 HD isn't regionalised, the ITV HD's are, if your card has it's ITV HD region on a DVB-S2 transponder then you're not going to be able to tune it in any way, go here for full transponder listings http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php and tune in all the ones you can, you might be lucky.
