Im getting hids for the Mazda as the standard lights are sh!te.
It needs canbus ones and they are normally 35w variant. Im just wondering if I get a 55w version will they still need to be canbus as halogens are 55w anyway?
and I know ill have to swap them out for NCT etc etc

Just get pretend headlight washer covers and silicone them on so they are easy to remove and swap out the units for the NCT.

    Nuk Nuk

Maybe try a higher watt of the bulbs you have at the moment? Might be a cheaper way with less hassle.

BTW, get rid of that sig :p

The Mazda headlights are muck. I'd agree with sticking on fake highlight washers.

What year is that mazda again? How do you know it needs canbus?

Good question bout 35w v 55w. Had never considered that.

I didn't think that in either of the 2 Mazdas I had. Am I missing something

That might melt the plastic in the headlights. Seeing as how the 6 has projectors id like to get 4300k or 5000k hids max. Ive Mtech bulbs ordered from hidsdirect for the fulls which are fantastic and about 4300k in colour.

Ill get rid of it when the Mazda is half corrected! :p

Its a 2003, needs canbus alright.

@MM, they are very poor, constantly have cars behind me lighting up the road in front!

A 626 I had before had the best lights out of any car ive had.
Mondeo mk1 was the worst by a very large margin.

And have you an ///M badge ordered too??? :P

Are the headlight lenses foggy? Could they benefit from a blast of the D/A?

Thats just their unfortunate name! OSI recommended them before and theyre very good.

Nope first thing I looked for was moisture/foggy lens. Its a well known problem, must be, cos I already knew they would be poor before I tested them

The whole HID/Xenon/4000's numbers bore me to death so I can't help you there!

What defines "needs canbus"? You get a bulb warning if a bulb is gone?
Plenty of cars 03 on that dont care what bulb is or isn't there?
As much as I like jap cars, im a little surprised that a 03 would start freaking over low current in a particular light circuit'

Your mps had xenons surely? A stronger bulb makes all the difference, but the standard setup sucks!!

Yes. Ive googled enough and HIDs direct are telling me I need a canbus kit. Most 2002+ built cars have canbus anyway. I tried an SMD in a fitting without resitors built in and it was flickering.
