The Batman & Robin scene is fantastic, where they all turn up at the funeral in fancy dress, not knowing the fancy dress party was cancelled!
Trigger embarressed because he also turned up in fancy dress... as an undertaker!
I still laugh thinking about it that scene!
One of the best deadpan comic characters, and the writers and producers found the perfect man for it!

Trigger: We have an old saying that's been handed down by generations of road sweepers: "Look after your broom..."

Rodney: ...and your broom will look after you.

Trigger: Nah Dave. It's just: "Look after your broom..."

    RIP

    RIP

Loved Trigger's description of his dream girl...

Trigger: Oh she's nothing to look at, very plain, little scar on her chin where she had a wart removed.

Or when they went on the Jolly Boys Outing...

    Trigger: I got a room in a motel. They don't know I ain't got a car

Sad news, Trigger was a great character. I always laugh when I think of the episode where he went to the Trotters for a lift to the pub, even though he had to walk past the pub to get to their flat.

Forgot that he was in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, one of his last roles, was on TG4 over Christmas.

They still haven't come up with a comedy series that competes with Only Fools for hilarity.

Best ever, without a doubt. Don't think we'll see TV like it again.

    Who is this Trigger fella?

Do you mean Owen Newitt in The Vicar Of Dibley?

Grew up watching the repeats of Only Fools & Horses. Loved the deadpan humor from Trigger. He was also hilerious as Owen the farmer in THe Vicar of Dibley. Sad news to wake up to. :(

Ah lad, if you've only seen him in Vicar of Dibley you are missing out.

He is funny in VoD, but as Trigger it was a completely different level.

Rodney: As I was saying. On a cold, rainy night in Peckham, someone has arranged for you four to be here in in this room - together. No one knows who. And the most frightening aspect of the whole mystery - no one knows why! Now, think hard. Who would do something like that?

    Trigger: Jeremy Beadle?

Roger Lloyd-Pack, who played Trigger in Only Fools And Horses, has died aged 69, his agent said.
Lloyd-Pack was born into an acting family in north London and his father Charles was a regular in Hammer horror films. Although best-known for playing the dim road-sweeper in Only Fools And Horses, Lloyd-Pack appeared in dozens of films and TV shows including a regular role as farmer Owen Newitt in The Vicar Of Dibley.
Father Ted creator Graham Linehan was among those paying tribute online. He said: “Very sad news about Roger Lloyd Pack. Trigger was an ancestor to Father Dougal and I’m glad I once had a chance to tell him so.”
Lloyd-Pack was also a successful stage actor, appearing regularly at Shakespeare’s Globe in central London, but knew he would always be best known as
Trigger. In a 2012 interview with the Guardian, he said: “People will never stop shouting ‘Trigger!’ at me in the street. The other day I jumped some lights on my bike because someone was hollering at me. A police van pulled me over, and when I stopped they also shouted: ‘Trigger!’. It can be very annoying.”
He was also politically active and a prominent campaigner for left-wing causes in the capital.
Lloyd-Pack’s daughter Emily shot to fame in the 1987 film Wish You Were Here before stepping back from the celebrity limelight after struggling with health issues.

Sid How the hell can it be the same bloody broom then?

He was great in Harry Potter, Barty Crouch, totally different type of character you would normally associate him with, RIP.

So sad. Absolutely loved his character, he had all the best scenes and lines in OFAH. He was just like Leslie Nielsen, with that deadpan straight faced humour. Brilliant.

Rodney: Alright, let's ask Trig. And you lot stay quiet, no prompting! Trigger, did you have big classes at your old school?

    Trigger: No, not very big.

    Rodney(At Del): See!

    Trigger: High ceilings though.

Boycie: And a few low ones. Remember your accident?

    Trigger: Oh yeah.

    Raquel: Why? What happened?

Denzil: Trig was walking through one of the corridors and he smacked right into a Mind Your Head sign.

Boycie: Gave him a right clout. His family sued the education authorities for brain-damage.

Del: The judge awarded him seven pound fifty compensations.

Albert(Confused): How d'you walk into a 'Mind Your Head' sign? Didn't you see it?

Trigger: Of course I saw it, but in those days I couldn't read.
