54 with Ozil, Mertesacker and Giroud to play

    Disaster of a weekend

I have Ozil and Mert too, but all hope lies with this lad

I'll happily take a clean sheet, but if Sagna feels like popping up with a goal/assist or bonus points then go for it lad. So many FPL managers praying for a boring 0-0 tonight!

Arsenal and villa. Nil nil is not going to happen

Arsenal have conceded 1 goal in their last 4 games, Villa have only scored 3 in their last 6. As usual we can twist stats in our favour (Arsenal conceded 6 against City recently and Villa knocked 3 past Southampton) but Arsenal should have a good chance of bagging a clean sheet tonight. I'm not confident though!

Obviously an Arsenal win is most likely, I'm praying for 1-0 so they still need to defend.

62, Ozil and Mertesacker to play. WC intact.

73 with Ozil to play. Having a real ding-dong cup battle with opponent in Fantasy Cup game, he has 71 with Mert and Szcesny to play.. So I need Villa & Ozil to score tonight.

Dont think I've ever gone beyond the 4th round of Cup in 7 seasons of FPL, come on ye footie gods look kindly on me ;)

A 1-0 with Ozil involved in the scoring would do me juuuust fine. Mertsacker would probably be involved in bonus.

I think it will be 2-0. Giroud and Ozil most likely with an Ox and Ozil assist.

Guy just behind me in my money league has trebled up on Arsenal defence  While the guy in top position (I'm 2nd) has no Arsenal defenders. I have Kos, but I'm not sure I want the clean sheet :o

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Trebling on a defence is either nuts or genius. Probably nuts. Yeah, I'd go for nuts.

Could work as a short term strategy focusing on favourable fixtures. Wouldn't do it myself though.

I've doubled up. Trebling on Arsenal wouldn't be the worst idea, with a view to getting rid of 2/3 of them with the WC before their fixtures tighten up in Feb.

Mert with a goal and a clean sheet, Ozil with a goal and an assist and Szczesny with a clean sheet, is that too much to ask for from one game? :P

I've two as well but the cost of a single goal costing you 12 points (plus likely bonus) would be too much for me to bare!
Plus it makes it a lot harder to get any offensive coverage for a team that scores goals pretty much every game.

No not at all hows about an assist for Szczesny while you are asking

A Begovic style goal from him in the first minute would be a nice way to start things off :P

10/1 on Kos goal anytime tonight. He's due one so worth a punt

    I've Ozil and Giroud tonight......so I'm all for a 3-3 thriller. :)

Why not a goal and an assist for Szc as well?

Assuming* you mean defenders, if so then the big drawback (after the obvious if they concede you lose 3 clean sheets in one go) would be that all Arsenal slots are taken up and you'd have no attacking players from a team likely to score well given the fixtures

*if you didnt mean defenders then carry on, nothing to see here

Gnabry starts, no Arteta means Ozil on pens?

Really hoping for Giroud to go nuts, but I am fairly certain it isn't going to happen.

    No Arteta?

Excuse me while I file that transfer under "stupidest gamble ever", proceed to light a fire, get some whiskey and pour a glass over the file, throw it in the fire, watch the flames and down the rest of the bottle.

If Ozil scores a penalty then I may just hop into the fire myself. That Walcott injury has been a disaster but I deserve no points for making that stupid short term transfer.

kos and ozil tonight. Will gladly give up the kos c.s as lots have doubled up on arsenal including the 2 people ahead of me in paid league and am sure nearly everybody has atleast 1 arsenal def at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,998 ✭✭✭✭8-10

Ozil can get a Walcott-like injury please. :)
