    Indeed, it says it all...
Why don't you put it through nct then?

I was thinking the same thing.
Especially when I read it again and at the beginning it's written "Took this photo to show how good it cleans up" and then further down it says "car is a good straight car just needs a front bumper and good cleanin".
Motorcheck is showing it as a 130 Zetec S, UK import.
Motortax.ie is showing this as well:

    Change Of Vehicle Ownership
Transferred to an Individual on : 06/12/2013

    Notified on: 03/01/2014

    Vehicle Registration Certificate
Most recent Vehicle Registration Certificate issued on : 08/01/2014

I hate doing this but... You have enough for another, more comfy diesel car but don't bother with the bushes that might be needed for a NCT for the car you want to sell?
Good luck with the sale then, not a bangeromics anyway, as there is no nct, and no idea what needs to be done to get one.

My apologies I should have been more clearer(i was typing from my phone), Once this car sells, I should have enough for a comfy diesel, NCT is valid until 21/01/14, so therefore it is still eligible for bangeromics...

It's more of a fixerupper really, It may as well have no NCT TBH.

Why don't you put some cash in it to put it through NCT and sell it for 1100?
Friendly advice: those Almeras are not that hard to sell, especially with a fresh NCT. Money well spent imo;)
Think about it, and post again when you got her tested.

I suppose I'm trying to look at all the options at the moment, I have herself's car(00 Fiesta) going through NCT tomorrow, here's hoping...

If I had the €1800 for this to spare, id buy it and dry store for you and take it for a good drive every week to keep her ticking over and a regular clean after every drive, and promise not to clock over 131K miles by the time your ready to purchase in may but by then id be asking for an inflated price, but it would be as fresh as a car then as is now.

Fair juice to the seller it seems he has put a lot of pug knowledge, passion and effort into restoring a genuinely good and exciting perfomance car to original spec and is probably just as good a car now as it was back when it had a mere 10K miles clocked up. :D

Id be damn near tempted to buy it for myself if I had the cash...

I have the cash, I'd be tempted to pay someone to check it over and if so buy it and store it at home, no issues there. It its still for sale in a few weeks I might be more tempted! As for inflated price? Surely not, the car would have devalued since January, less tax and less test, ill give you 1700 and you will be happy!

Edit, my one concern is what are those front seats like, it says Something like full custom leather. Oh I see its down to 1600 with a few noted blemishes, interesting.

yeah, but to expect a dealer to drop €400 of his price will be expecting a bit much, cos that probably his margin. Out of that margin, he's got vat to pay, so the mans got to make a few quid out of it too.

    ah give over lol
I do ya a favour storing in my shed out of the elements, spend petrol in her to take her out for a drive to keep the engine running, oil flowing, brakes operational and etc. every once a week, wash her down and a quick interior clean after every drive not to mention an exterior polish every 2months, even sort out those blemishes if I can with leather specific cleaning agents.
The car would be nearly in a somewhat better condition after me than it is now and you expect to pay less than the asking price I originally paid for?
I may aswell keep it and enjoy it for myself :pac:

Unless you want to leave it to another lad to mind it where he might leave it parked up for 6months straight where rust can set in, brakes can seize up, tyres could perish, interior gets damp and mouldy, paint goes dull, lacquer peel, birds ****e on it causing more damage to paint and by the time may comes round for you to buy it back it wouldnt be worth the price it demands now, but lad wont sell until he gets paid the full amount for what he bought it for.

Its up to you how you go about buying it, my advice is to have a trusted mechanic mind her and give it minor but necessary servicing and drivin to keep her in tip top condition, not to a little runt who wouldnt know any better and be likely to let it rot.

Right go on ill buy it off you for €100 more than it costs you with a new nct on it!? Sure it's probably a lemon....! Guess ill have to wait until June

If ya wanted me to put it through an NCT for ya I would, and I wouldnt call it a lemon.
Honestly seems like a genuinely good example of a pug 306 GTi-6 not many of them left in such good condition.

If ya have someone you can trust to give it a good look at it and buy it and mind it properly until may, then get on to it quick someone else will snap it up before you do.
All im saying is If it was me responsible for minding it for you until may, I would treat it like a baby and maintain it in A1 condition for you like ya should with such a beautiful example of a genuine performance car, if you cant appreciate that, then sure just let any runt buy it for you and by the time your ready to pick it up in may you might get it at a bargain because he could have the ****e rallied out of it and the value wouldnt be anywhere near worth the price the seller is currently asking.

Im not having a go at you just advising to have a trusted mechanic or a lad who knows about cars to mind it for you properly until you can pick it up in may

Price is down to €1600 small rust spot on boot and from my experience of 306's probably lacquer peeling on roof.

Posted a few pages back but worth posting again:)

Just a thought at the moment...might never materialise but I really want one of these for the Summer. Will need to check how I'd fare with insurance first though.

Anyone on here ever owned one and how did they fare, what can go wrong apart from the known oil consumption of the early VVTI enginess which I'm aware of as have drove an avensis vvti. They are RWD being MR? Honest John says they are tuneable to 200bhp plus....I would assume they mean the 190bhp engine as found in the Celica and not the 140bhp model....then again 190bhp is almost at 200bhp so why say that?

Also how does insurance fare on them? For what its worth Ive a full ncb and with FBD but I do know that some insurance companies can be a bit funny about convertibles. One last question. Are hardtop roofs to be easily had for them. Would be a bit aprehensive about parking it on a city street overnight with a soft top roof. Sorry bout all the questions if anyone informed can answer them great, if not that'll be grand too

Know nothing about them other than what I read in the various reviews :)
    Here are a couple
    http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/toyota/mr2/roadster-2000/
    http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/used/toyota/mr2-roadster/summary/25115-1
They all seem to say it's very reliable.

I've a feeling insurance might be expensive alright. I can't get a quote off chill or anyone else I've tried online, whereas they'll give me a quote for most cars.

Seems to get a good rating for driving experience which is what I want it for. Only intend to keep it for 6 months and not too bothered if I loose a few quid on it which I'm sure I will.

I think I'll ring FBD tomorrow if I get the time. My experience of motor insurance is that certain companies have certain cars black marked and other providers will provide you with a reasonable quote on the same model
