    Fair play to barca manager raffling off a player to div 3 and div 4 teams its nice to see managers thinking of others instead of the usual greed and trying to get one over on eachother.

    You did work very hard at it, just because the players don't make it in the door does not mean nothing is going on in the background..

    Trust me man, had u taken over Pompey in d4 your manager ratings would have been way higher!!!

    So do some people just not bother logging on in the off season then?

    I've noticed there's a fair few managers (mainly who don't post here) who were regular enough during the season but haven't logged on much since their last game. And it's funny to me, cause this is the part of the game I love the most :P

    Well, that's a load of absolute ****.

    There wasn't a single 90 rated player in the team when I took over.

    There was 5 89's (Ochoa, Nianggolan, Capel, Schaars and Kalou)and 6 88's (Matavz, Rndon, Elias, Rinaudo, Tabanou and Kana-Biyik.

    Everyone else, I signed and even then, there was only ever 1 player rated 90 or above.


    Compared to teams like CSKA, Malaga, Celtic, Marseille, Bordeaux and Galatasaray I had an inferior first team, they all actually DID have several 90+ rated players in their teams.

    And I wasn't questioning the job you did with Portsmouth, you did well to not be relegated, but again, how exactly did you expect to rise in manager rankings when you're not winning games or going on cup runs? Do you should be given some sort of special "participation points" just because you chose to manage a **** club and struggled to sign players?


    And if you played an 87 as your striker, that's your own fault, seeing as you have an 88 and an 89 in your squad.

    I got Matri for 18, and if I'd less Newcastle would have accepted less.

    I got Kokorin for 6 from Pepper.

    Geromel for 800k and two nobodies

    Trémoulinas for 11

    Alzarez for 8.7 and two squad players

    Zapata for two squad players valued at about 10

    Gusev for one **** squad player.




    I sold Tabanou for 8.4, Geromel for 7.9, Matavz for 7.2 and Elias for 8.5.



    17 million can get you a lot more than "SFA" if you are willing to put in the leg work.
    My cheap sales were to managers who bothered to contact me to chat about them, some of my cheap buys were me talking to managers and asking for a deal (kokorin and Matri especially). And the rest were me looking for players at externals and getting in before everyone else.


    Hard work pays off.

    Do you know what that is? It's a link to LA Galaxys squad. It's just one example of someone jumping head first into the transfer market and signing a few quality players. They might be getting old but some 88s, 89s and a 93 is nothing to laugh at. Like I said, you haven't made a signing since sometime in November.

    There's 4 or 5 players at Fiorentina I'd happily break the bank for but I'm only going to wait so long, especially since there's no promise of actually being able to do business.

    In fact, while I know people have given out about me taking high rated players from externals before, it's about the only way I seem able to strengthen my squad right now. Seems even 88s and 89s are tough to get now...

    Though, annoyingly, the one great player I've found so far, my chairman refuses to let me bid for :(

    Can't see why anyone would have a problem with someone signing a player from an external club to be honest.

    Who has a problem with it? Sure it only makes since to buy from external or the players go to waste. Plus they have some talented players that will rise in rating.

    Busy evening ahead - My Holland team play Mexico in the WC at 8, and I have a lottery to do at 9!!! :)

    On the Yilmaz thing, I'll be going through all offers shortly - Have decided I'll refuse any offer that has not followed the rules and offered exactly €5.8m, regardless of the offer involved, as will offers from ineligible teams.
