Didnt take this thread long to get hijacked into a religion (Christian) bashing thread.

Nah, I think we're willing to mock any of the religions which hold those hateful books in reverence.

Always the victim lads, even when persecuting others

    60. Trimming your beard (19:27)

Guess Mach 3 should be banned ;)

Different religion and book alright but has any of this influenced the Muslim religion?

Its all thought up by like minded crack pots so suppose its not a surprise that Christianity's "naughty list" and Islam's "Don't do these or I'll kill you list" are pretty similar.

Its completely off topic but arent the books of the bible supposed to be the word of god. An all powerful infinite being. If so surely his laws and rules as written in the bible passed on through prophets shouldnt be specific to a narrow window of time and a small region in the middle east. If this is the case then surely this is purely the word of man masquerading as the word of god and how so can we have faith in any books of the bible. I am in no way knocking any religion just querying your post.

Ah yea but theirs a lot of wriggle room in the phrase 'word of God' depending on how literally you take it.
From the hard right fundamentalist position that the KJV is the exact dictate of God and means exactly what it says to a more hand wavey liberal CoE position where a clergyman can doubt the existence of God and keep his job.
    That's what makes it interesting!
But your right most of the books of the bible are specific to the circumstances of the time they were written. Now no one outside of ultra orthodox Jews take Leviticus seriously.
I bet their a list of stuff we now take as 'gospel' that the people of Leviticus time would conciser meh and not worry about following.
It's a bit of fun to read these rules and see how archaic they have become, dosn't do any harm to check our own bias's at the same time though.

The Abrahamic faiths. Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Christianity and Islam take the OT and develop from it. Neither started from scratch.

Can't be arsed counting but some of them are brilliant:
    21. Eating – or touching the carcass of – the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard, the gecko, the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink and the chameleon (11:29)
    38. Giving your children to be sacrificed to Molek (18:21)

It's like how you can't call someone a communist in the Dáil, you'd love to know the story behind it like.

76 and 66 seem to contradict each other. Who would have though you'd find a contradiction in the bible?!
