This is how the car was sitting as of this morning, but its totally rust-free and generally just lovely. I've taken it out and driven it a few miles this morning. I reckon if anything, it could do with a bit of a tidy up inside as its a bit grubby.

I'll just say I paid a fair bit under €1k for it ;)

    Oh don't I know, I'm bloody delighted.

It won't be a garage queen either, I'll get my use from it.

I'm all for that but watch for it rusting. It would be a pity let it go now.

Indeed, my old 1100 was starting to go bad after months of driving around, but I have a shed now for storage and I'm a bit better educated on what to do/not to do with classics.

I'll be sure to look after it.

My 12 lessons are booked and the first is on Saturday. How the hell did I get to 36 without driving! It's getting sorted anyway. Can't wait to get stuck in. Slightly nervous but looking forward to hopefully passing the test and picking up my first car in around 6 months time.

I shall no longer be the laughing stock of the office- buying a Beemer for the missus that I can't drive. Tis off to the Learning forum for me.

Don't be a muppet, I learned to drive when I was 25 and only did the test when I was nearly 35 instructors are well used to the likes of you and I :)

In good news, 35 yoyos later, my battery terminal issues have been resolved, the car no longer sounds like an emphysema patient on oxygen on startup, just drums into life ready for what I wish :)

The battery that the OH bought two years ago appears to be dodgy, mechanic has never seen it before, a brand called euroglobe?

My aunt is 64 and she's only doing her theory test, so you're never too old to start!

Shup you even with all that wind noise, you can still hear the lovely sound of busso's. Although it'd be a hell of a lot nicer without any wind.....

Also theres something nice about hearing your own car.

And the sound of that 166 super and highly modified 156 third car in:cool:

Anyone know where one could get alloys the same as these ones. Tried DD and ebay but to no avail.
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ford-focus-st170-just-nctd/5983667

Also, they are 17", dunno if ye need more info on them, but roughly what size and price would tyres cost. :)

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/sis.html?_kw=FORD+FOCUS+ST170+ST+170+ALLOY+WHEELS+ALLOYS+NR+17+INCH

They're 4 stud though, incase you were thinking of putting them on the mondeo

Ugh, god no! Friend thinking of putting them on a Mk1 focus. I'm assuming they would fit the same hub as a normal focus?

They fit alright. I got mine on pistonheads classifieds in fairly good condition. Maybe check out the ford forums as they come up for sale fairly regularly.

For something i could probably do for about 90 quid that's insane!

Quick question. I have heated front seats. The drivers side works fine as does the passenger side base pad but the passenger back pad does not work. I am guessing the pad has burnt out and I could not be arsed changing it. Since everything else works I am assuming there is no point checking for faulty wiring or anything under the seat? I had a quick look but could not see anything obvious.

Mostly labour costs if you're taking removing sump etc...

Requires at least a few tea and Jaffa cake breaks, while on the clock of course. :D

Well when you consider for a minute what the garage has to pay out before profit. I think it's a fair price for a dealers. If you can do it yourself safely then go for it. :)
