I have issues with heights. If I made it all the way to the end I'd probably have to be air lifted off. Magnificent views though, I really wish I was able to do something like this.

Would you give it a go?

Watched The Summit tonight. Don't think I'm gonna start mountain climbing any time soon!

It's the coming down which is the hard part!

I'm drinking tea looking at the view they get to see now.
Seems a bit silly to actually risk my life doing it

Ha, judging from that set, I could see an attached poll quickly reach 90% no.

    I'd be among their number.

Bricks would be shat everywhere. Wouldn't make it up the steps. My feet are getting tingly just looking at the pictures.

Have many people died doing the route?

I get bad dreams that are not unlike being stuck on ledges like that.

I remember having palpitations kissing the Blarney stone as a kid.

No way am I going up there!

Adrenalin rush would be awesome though, so maybe.

Not a chance of me doing that.

I don't think I'd be able to handle the climbing with the footholds. I never enjoyed climbing.
If I was able to work out for a bit to make sure I had the upper body strength to pull myself up + safety gear then yeah, I'd do it.

I thought it was going to be a McDonalds at the top, instead it's only a soon-to-be-Starbucks

This is the kind of trail that shows up in my nightmares. As much as I love a good walk/ climb, and a beautiful view, I cant even imagine the panic attack I'd get going along those planks. I'm actually ok with the foothold part

There are dozens of rumors circulating regarding the number of deaths on Mount Huashan. Despite the dangers associated with the climb, one must wonder why there isn’t more documentation regarding mountain rescues or the deaths themselves. Are they myth or simply not important enough to report in the news?
Why hasn’t the Chinese government done anything to improve the conditions of these paths to make them safer for the public? Even more intriguing is this question: why do tourists and pilgrims still insist on making these dangerous ascents? Perhaps we’ll never know why – but we’ll also never question the astounding beauty contained within Mount Huashan’s peaks.

    Best i could find!!

See, what I want to know is who first thought it was a good idea to climb up there at all...

...and someone went up there (how???) to nail the scary planks and chains on, who was that???

Had the same thoughts about the Skelligs when I first went out there...but have to admit this is a whole different level of lunacy!

I was nervous going up the ladder to take down the christmas decorations earlier, not a hope I would survive that

Hahaha. That's me all over. I used to be ok with heights, did rock climbing as a teen. Climbed up ladders to paint houses. However I have developed an irrational fear of heights since. I get dizzy standing on a chair now.

I don't think I'd be fit enough to even make it up those stairs at the start

It says in the article that the building at the top used to be a Taoist temple. Maybe they were holy people who were being persecuted or wanted peace and quite to meditate or it might have been a huge honour to survive the journey to visit them or something.

I remember doing Croagh Patrick and being impressed they had managed to build a church at the top but this is a whole other level of
