    Audi s8 quattro(standard 4.2 on vlc)

Big seat bolsters, proper S8 wheels, and steering wheel .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,536 ✭✭✭✭L-M

Actually it says on the add it's a standard A8 on the vlc which makes sense.

    What in particular?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,350 ✭✭✭Sobanek

    What in particular?

What will you insure it as? An A8 4.2 Quattro or an S8? Or an A8 4.2 with an engine modification?

Insure it as an A8 4.2 - Insurance fraud
Can't insure it as an S8 - it says A8 4.2 Quattro in the book
Insure it as an A8 4.2 with engine modification - sky high insurance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,536 ✭✭✭✭L-M

The correct VRT wouldn't have been paid and it's probably insured wrong.

Is insure it as an S8, if I tell the insurance company to insure it as an S8 I can't see a problem.
It would be under classic insurance as well.

It wrong vrt that was paid at the time could be difficult.. I don't know what the standing there would be, but how would someone know anyway?

Don't know if this has been posted before, but it is a GENUINE AMG.
2000 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG. Fresh NCT, no mention of mileage however.
    Asking €6,500

Registered as a CL500 according to cartell. No pictures of the engine and a few pictures of AMG badges that you can buy on ebay. Not doubting that it could be genuine but the incorrect registration poses a few questions..

    2000 Mercedes Benz

    • Body Type Coupe
    • Fuel Type Petrol
    • Colour Blue
    • Transmission Unknown
That's what comes up on Motorcheck.

This part is incorrect. There are lots of examples where admin errors have been made, whereby e46's may be down as e36's on the book, but it makes no odds to the status of the cover, as long as the insurance company know what it is.

It could well be that the s8 wasn't an option in the VRT system at that time, so they went with the closest available option.

Yea, and probably the same with that CL.

I'm driving one of the above at the moment as a temporary car. Not in the best of shape, but it drives very well for a 99 with 130k miles. Electric steering wheel, PDC etc.

While the niggles be sorted on the new bus? E38 gone already?

Aye, fair play to them, they asked me if there was anything else on the car I wanted them to look at and I gave them a short list. Nothing I told them is actually warranted, but he said they'd take a look none the less as I just bought it.

Still have the E38, i'm no longer insured on it so can't drive it at the mo. The Lexus smells like a nursing home.
